I've ordered 6 swords from Truekatana. This picture represents a Chinese Straight Sword and Chinese Broadsword I purchsed. I'm not a metalurgist, forgemaster or swordmaster. I learned a little Shao lin and wu shu broadsword in my youth, but that's about it. All that said these swords are truly functional, beautifully balanced and of exquisite workmanship. They are also, by far, the nicest.
I've also bought two katanas and two wakizashi. Though I did not venture into the same price range, they are truly viable weapons and beautiful art pieces.

Sword was in great condition, tightly packaged, with no flaws. The blade was sharp to the touch and covered in protective oil in a plastic sleeve. The scabbard was covered with plastic that was easy to remove as well. The box itself that it came in was stryofoam, was taped several times around and was form fitted to the actual sword. The box did smell really weird, so as a heads up would recommend opening outside then bringing it in. Other than the smell though, the sword was in top condition for the price asked.

The shipping was fast- I believe it was at my door 5 days from when I placed the order.
As for the katana, the Saya is plastic and the blade is aluminum, making it extremely light weight and easy to wield. I've only had it for a day and done some basic drawing/drills with it. Admittedly I am concerned about how it will hold up to even light contact, so time will tell.
For now I am happy with it, but the price does seem high for a practice weapon (based on the plethora of "sharp" edged, and probably poor quality, weapons I could have gotten for a fraction of the price). If I can get a couple years of use out of it, I'd say it was worth it.
