Product Details

This red katana features a 28.3-inch folded damascus steel blade with a striking deep red finish. The folding process refines the steel's internal grain, producing visible layered patterns across the blade surface while achieving a hardness of 60 HRC. The edge is hand-finished and sharpened, and the blade tip shows subtle etched detailing that catches the light against the dark red tone.

The 10.2-inch tsuka is built on a full tang core, wrapped in red cotton ito cord over white rayskin (samegawa). The diamond-pattern wrapping is tightly bound, providing a textured grip with clean spacing between each wrap. Brass fittings at the fuchi and kashira cap both ends of the handle.

The tsuba is crafted from red-finished alloy in an openwork floral design, bordered by a brass habaki collar at the blade's base. This combination of red alloy and gold-tone brass creates a layered color contrast that ties the guard into the overall red-and-gold theme of the sword. The 30.3-inch hardwood saya is finished in red piano lacquer with an intricate white and gold crackle-vein pattern across the entire surface. A red sageo cord is tied at the kurikata with a traditional knot, and the saya mouth is fitted snugly to hold the blade without excess play. This lacquer finish gives the scabbard a glossy, polished depth that pairs well with the matte texture of the cotton ito.

At 40.5 inches overall and 2.85 lbs, this Full Tang Katana is built as a complete collectible piece - from the folded damascus blade to the coordinated red fittings and lacquered saya. Every component follows a unified red color theme accented with brass and white details, making it a bold centerpiece for any Japanese sword display.
