Product Details

This katana features a 28.5-inch blade forged from 1045 carbon steel, hand sharpened and polished to reveal engraved line patterns running along the flat of the blade. The full tang construction delivers solid balance across the sword's 40.5-inch total length, with the steel carrying a cool blue-gray tone and a clean, precise edge profile.

The 10.25-inch tsuka is wrapped in red cord over white PU samegawa in a traditional diamond pattern, providing both visual contrast and a textured grip surface. Gold-tone menuki and fuchi-kashira accents punctuate the handle, tying into the warm metallic tones found throughout the fittings.

A round alloy tsuba sits at the center of this katana's design, featuring an open-cut pattern filled with bamboo leaf silhouettes in silver against a red-painted surface. The cutout design adds depth and dimension while keeping the guard lightweight. This piece pairs well with other swords from the Red 1045 Carbon Steel Katana collection.

The glossy red hardwood saya is the visual centerpiece, hand-engraved with cascading bamboo branches and leaves in silver detail. A red fabric sageo is tied at the kurikata with a gold-tone eyelet, and gold leaf accents are scattered across the scabbard surface, adding an extra layer of refinement to the lacquered finish.

Weighing 4.5 lbs with a 28.5-inch saya, this katana is built as a substantial display sword with coordinated red, silver, and gold elements from pommel to tip. It makes a striking addition to any collection of Red 1045 Carbon Steel Japanese Samurai Swords and stands out for its engraved saya craftsmanship and cohesive color palette.

I noticed on little ding on the scabbard but other than that it is great. Came earlier than the estimated time and it is more beautiful than the picture.

Overall, amazing looking sword. The scabbard is carved wood to fit the sword perfectly. I would say the $100–$200 katanas are more for display than actual combat. Beautifully done!
