Product Details

This katana features a 29-inch blade forged from 1045 carbon steel, hardened to 58 HRC. The most striking detail is the printed maple leaf pattern that extends across the flat of the blade in white, creating a bold visual contrast against the polished steel surface. The edge is sharpened and the tip comes to a clean point, visible in the kissaki geometry.

The tsuka measures 10.25 inches and is wrapped in black polyurethane leather over a black samegawa underlayer. The wrapping follows a traditional cross-knot pattern, and the kashira at the pommel end is finished in black to match. A copper-tone habaki sits at the blade collar, bridging the transition from steel to handle fittings.

The tsuba is an alloy guard with a bamboo-themed openwork design, finished in dark tones that complement the overall palette. The open lattice pattern gives the guard a layered, dimensional look while keeping weight manageable. Among Black Leather Handle Japanese Samurai Swords, this piece stands out with its printed blade artistry.

The saya is crafted from hardwood with a deep dark red glossy lacquer finish, measuring 29.5 inches in length. A black leather sageo is wrapped neatly around the kurikata, and the koiguchi mouth transitions from the red body to a black-wrapped throat section. The contrast between the glossy dark red body and black accents gives the scabbard a refined, dramatic appearance.

Overall length comes in at 41 inches with a shipping weight of 4.4 lbs. The combination of printed blade artwork, dark red lacquered saya, and black leather fittings makes this katana a distinctive display piece. For collectors drawn to bold red tones, the Red Dragon Katana collection offers additional options in a similar color family.

The sword is exquisitely made. It arrived and appeared exactly as it was displayed and advertised. My best friend loved it. There were complications and delays with the delivery because of customs holding the sword for some time. So the time of arrival was late, but the company TrueKatana took care of it and responded promptly to my inquiries about what was going on with my sword. They were very professional and polite, and I appreciated it. I would happily recommend them to anyone and I intend to get more swords in the near future. -ELW from Missouri

I was skeptical about it at first; is it a scam? Are the katanas real/good quality? Will it arrive late? You’ll be glad to know as I was that it’s not a scam, the katanas are really good quality and it arrived at a decent time. 5/5 looking forward to my next purchase :)

Love the quality. Blade is expertly crafted and the finish on the grip and sheath are finely made. Also sharp as all get out. Damn near cut my thumb off when it slid outta the sheath within the first day of owning it. Overall: while it may be a little blood-thirsty it is a great piece for display. Just keep it away from children, intoxicated individuals and depending on your blade keep it away from the blood of a virgin mother.
