Product Details

This T10 carbon steel katana features a striking blue-finished blade created through a clay-tempered hardening process. The differential heat treatment produces a visible hamon line along the edge while achieving 60 HRC hardness. The full-tang construction runs the entire length of the sword, and the blade's deep blue tone gives it an unmistakable presence among Carbon Katana collectibles.

The tsuka measures 6.3 inches and is built on a wooden core wrapped in white polyurethane leather samegawa. Dark blue ito cord is layered over the samegawa in a traditional diamond-pattern tsukamaki, creating a firm and visually balanced grip. A dark blue sageo cord secures the saya to complete the coordinated color scheme.

At the guard position sits a black alloy tsuba featuring an openwork snowflake design with cutout petals arranged in a circular pattern. A brass-toned habaki collar sits between the tsuba and blade, adding a warm metallic accent that contrasts with the cool blue and black tones throughout the piece.

The hardwood saya is the visual centerpiece of this katana. Finished in piano lacquer, it displays a vivid turquoise and black speckled crackle pattern that resembles natural turquoise stone. The texture is dense and irregular, giving each scabbard a one-of-a-kind appearance. This finish pairs with the blue blade and dark hardware to create a cohesive winter-themed color palette found in our Dark Blue Saya Japanese Samurai Swords collection.

The katana measures 41 inches in overall length and weighs 3 lbs. The blade section spans 12.5 inches at the nagasa, and the entire piece ships in a 43 x 4 x 4 inch package at 4 lbs. Whether mounted on a wall rack or placed on a tabletop stand, this blue katana delivers a bold visual statement built on traditional Japanese sword-making techniques.

  • Forged from T10 carbon steel with clay-tempered hardening, producing a visible hamon line and a deep blue finish across the full-tang blade at 60 HRC hardness.
  • Turquoise and black speckled hardwood saya finished in piano lacquer, delivering a vivid crackle-pattern texture that stands out in any display setting.
  • Black alloy tsuba with an openwork snowflake motif paired with a brass habaki, blending traditional Japanese aesthetics with a bold winter-inspired theme.

The swords came in better than what I was expecting in quality and appearance. I even had a buddy who knows katanas well, and he rated these as a very good quality sword.

The katana is heavier then it looks! Which is a plus for me I didn’t mind, it felt like it had character! But I will say this the material on the handle came loose along with the bottom piece that holds it together and the Sagieo came loose as well, But I redid it my self and it looks more awesome now I love my katana

New member of the family! I love this katana and my backyard is now full of decapitated water bottles. I've drank so many water bottles and filled them with tap water to not be wasteful--it's so addicting, getting that perfect clean slice on the water bottles, slicing multiple water bottles at once, slicing the larger jugs of waters, slicing fruits--this t10 steel is so resilient and cuts through the targets like butter. Of course, this is my first katana, my swordsmanship is that of an ultra-novice, but now I'm invigorated to learn--and learn more of the samurai history--after purchasing this instrument. What is great about TrueKatana is their unique designs, all the different scabbards and the subtle details on the hilts, the tsuba, the sheath, etc.--so much selection! I was warned that purchasing a katana would activate an addiction and, well, no regrets! 10/10, this model, the blue blade, it's mesmerizing. Just taking it out of the sheath and staring at it 😆 ...Okay, I think this review may have come off a bit long but trust me, purchase a katana from here and you'll understand!

The sword is a darker blue than it looks and so is the scabbard however. The scabbard is about the color of the sword in the photo and the sword is very dark. Almost black. Both look very nice though. Sword is straight and it is sharp. Pretty decent balance. I'd say for the price you really won't beat it. Pretty fast shipping as well. Believe I got it in about 11 days. I'm not gonna say there aren't better but for a first sword or practice sword at this price I don't see you getting anything better. Metal seams to hold its edge good but I haven't done enough testing yet for that.

This thing is bad a**! I got it for my hubby for Father's day, and I can't wait to give it to him! Everything about it is beautiful, including the packaging job! Will definitely be ordering more pieces soon!

I’ve never owned a katana so this is my first, and I will say, definitely a good starter katana. Not perfect quality, but Is very excellent considering the price. Looks very good as well. The only problem I have is the string on the sheath is very thin and flimsy, and the little gold pieces that are on the hole on the sheath fell right out. But those are easy fixes.

The Sword is beautiful, it's sharp, great at cutting, and it arrived relatively slow. I don't think it's your fault though because I live in NZ. My only complaint is that the grip would un-tie itself very easily and the metal bit at the end would fall off every time I practiced using it. Aside from that though 10/10

I bought this for my granddaughter, but had it shipped to my house. I was skeptical of the quality, so I wanted to look it over and handle it before I gave it to her. I was very surprised and very pleased with the quality, workmanship and beauty of this katana. It handles well and is razor sharp and held its edge with no damage after several test cuts on my poor unsuspecting willow tree. I have ordered another Katana for my grandson based on my experience with this one.
