Product Details

The straight 28.5-inch blade is forged from 1045 carbon steel and clay tempered to reach 58 HRC hardness. A continuous hamon line runs along the spine side of the blade, creating a wave-like pattern etched into the steel surface. The double-edged spear point tapers to a clean symmetrical tip, and the chrome-finished steel carries a subtle contrast between the tempered zone and the polished edge.

The 10.25-inch handle is wrapped tightly in black cord, providing a textured grip that stays secure during handling. The cord wrapping follows a uniform horizontal pattern, and the pommel cap is finished in black with a brass-tone alloy ring that matches the accent bands found throughout the piece.

In place of a traditional tsuba, this design uses a flush alloy collar where the blade meets the handle shaft. The brass-tone rings at each joint section serve as both decorative accents and structural reinforcements, creating a striking black-and-gold color scheme across the entire assembly.

The saya is constructed from iron with a piano lacquer finish in deep black, featuring fine horizontal grooves cut into the surface for added visual texture. At 28.5 inches, the saya doubles as the extension shaft for the spear configuration - the handle section locks into the saya's open end to create a full 53-inch polearm. This expandable design sets it apart from a standard Black 1045 Carbon Steel Ninjato and gives collectors a two-in-one display option.

Fully assembled, the piece weighs 4.5 lbs and stretches 53 inches from pommel to spear tip. The all-black palette with brass accents gives it a sleek, understated look that works equally well mounted on a wall or standing in a vertical display rack. For collectors drawn to Clay Tempered Ninjato designs, this expandable spear variant offers a distinctive silhouette that stands out in any collection.

  • Forged from 1045 carbon steel with clay tempering for a hardness of 58 HRC, the straight blade runs 28.5 inches with a visible hamon line along its full length.
  • Expandable spear design extends the overall reach to 53 inches, with a secure locking mechanism connecting the handle section to the saya shaft.
  • Black iron saya finished in piano lacquer with horizontal groove detailing, paired with brass-tone alloy bands at each joint for a refined black-and-gold contrast.
  • Handle wrapped in black cord over a 10.25-inch grip section, offering a firm hold whether used as a short sword or fully extended as a spear configuration.
  • Total weight of 4.5 lbs provides substantial heft and presence, making this an eye-catching display piece at 53 inches fully assembled.

The Ninjato condenses down to the height of a walking stick.
It’s heavy enough for cane defense.
Inner hardware is sturdy.
When opened up as a pole-arm, the Ninjato feels graceful while stabbing and thrusting. I find this to be a very fun weapon to have and look forward to incorporating this piece into my practice.

The blade was a little small and there's little to no protection to it when it's sheathed. I would say that's its worth the money

First review but have made multiple orders. Everything I have gotten is of trememdous. Collected quite a few blades and none of the swords match up to the quality of all my True Katana orders. I'm kind of addicted now.

Beautiful craftsmanship and extremely well made. The only issues I had was the fact that the spearhead is only partially double bladed, considering at one point it goes from bladed to blunt on the top part of the blade and that once you turn the sword into a spear there is no place to put the cap that conceals the grooves except your pocket.Other than that it is an extremely good product and I would highly recommend!
