Product Details

This katana features a clay tempered manganese steel blade spanning 28.74 inches, heat-treated to 58 HRC hardness. The tempering process produces a dramatic hamon line along the edge, while the entire blade surface carries a deep crimson red finish that shifts between copper and cherry tones depending on the light. The full tang construction runs through the entire handle, secured with a mekugi pin for structural integrity. For more crimson-finished swords, browse our Red Flame Theme Blade Japanese Samurai Swords collection.

The tsuka measures 10.23 inches and is built on a hardwood core wrapped in PU white samegawa. Black cotton cord is woven over the ray skin in a traditional diamond pattern, providing both texture and grip. The white samegawa diamonds visible through the wrap create a clean contrast against the black ito, keeping the handle visually grounded against the vibrant blade and saya.

At the junction of blade and handle sits a round iron tsuba featuring an openwork design with hollow cutouts and a cherry blossom flower engraved on the gold-tone brass collar. The tsuba's black iron finish is framed by a thin brass seppa on each side, adding a warm metallic accent that bridges the red blade and dark handle.

The saya is crafted from hardwood and finished in piano lacquer with a distinctive pink and white marble pattern - a mottled floral texture that gives each scabbard a unique appearance. At 30.7 inches, the scabbard fits the blade precisely. A black sageo cord is tied at the kurikata in a traditional knot, ready for display or obi carry. This pink marble finish pairs naturally with other pieces in our Red Manganese Steel Katana collection.

The complete katana measures 41 inches in overall length and weighs 4.4 lbs. From the crimson blade to the marble-patterned saya and the cherry blossom tsuba, every component is assembled as a cohesive collectible piece rooted in Japanese sword-making tradition. Sword stand or holder is not included.

The sheath came with a small chip in the pain on the loop, which is outward facing.

It was not bad enough to warrant us to request a replacement. Overall satisfied purchase, but the chip was a slight disappointment.

I was hoping for a usable weapon at what I believed to be a sufficient amount to get such. Obviously it is a nice decoration but after looking at it closely in person i do not trust to use it. It looks pretty, but i’m disappointed with the quality of the blade and some elements of the sword.
