Product Details

This collectible tanto features a 12.5-inch blade forged from 1045 carbon steel using a clay tempering process. The differential hardening produces a visible hamon temper line running along the cutting edge, while the blade surface carries a deep red finish that contrasts with the bright steel edge. Hardened to 62 HRC, the full tang construction provides solid structural integrity from tip to pommel.

The 6.3-inch tsuka is built on a full tang core and wrapped in black polyurethane leather, bound with rice-colored ito in a traditional crosshatch pattern. The kashira at the pommel end showcases an ornate gold-tone alloy cap with raised arabesque scrollwork, matching the fittings found on the saya.

At the guard position sits a gold alloy tsuba with an openwork floral medallion at its center, surrounded by flowing vine and cloud motifs. This flowers-theme design extends to the habaki collar, tying the blade and handle aesthetics together with a cohesive gold-and-black color palette.

The hardwood saya is finished in piano lacquer and sheathed in black PU leather embossed with a dense floral scroll pattern. Three gold-tone alloy bands - at the koiguchi, kurikata, and kojiri - feature raised arabesque details that echo the tsuba and kashira motifs. This coordinated approach to the fittings gives the piece a unified, luxurious appearance. Browse more styles in the Red Aikuchi collection for similar red-blade designs.

The blade and scabbard were super cool, only thing wrong was the paint on some of the decal. Other than that, arrived fast and came in great condition.
