Blue Manganese Steel Katana with Flower Engraving, Black Geometric Tsuba and Lacquer Saya

The blade on this katana is forged from high manganese steel and finished in a deep, even blue that catches light cleanly along the curvature. Hand-engraved flower motifs are applied along the flat of the blade - delicate white botanical line work that contrasts sharply against the blue ground and gives the piece a distinct identity within our Blue Katana collection.

The handle is built on a full-tang core wrapped in red PU samegawa, then bound with black cord in a traditional diamond pattern. The result is a high-contrast black-red tsuka with a firm, textured surface. Iron fittings at the habaki and fuchi complete the handle assembly with consistent dark metal tones.

The tsuba is a standout element - a black iron disc cut in a geometric spoke pattern with a gold-tone seppa seated at center. The open lattice design reduces visual bulk while adding architectural detail that reads well up close. It sits cleanly between blade and handle without competing with either.

The saya is lacquered hardwood in black, finished with a fine blue-green speckle effect embedded in the surface coat that gives it depth under light. A braided blue sageo is knotted at the kurikata, completing the blue-and-black color scheme that runs through the full piece.
