This full tang tanto features a 1045 steel blade with a black finish that contrasts with a bright, polished edge visible along the cutting line and kissaki tip. Heat-treated to 58 HRC, the blade delivers the hardness expected from a properly forged Japanese short sword. The two-tone effect between the dark spine and the exposed steel at the edge gives this tanto a striking visual presence that stands out among Real Tanto collectibles.

The tsuka measures 10.25 inches and is built over a full tang core, wrapped in black ray-skin (samegawa) beneath a tight black cord (ito) binding. The wrapping pattern is traditional and even, with the dark samegawa visible through the diamond-shaped gaps in the cord. The overall grip feel is secure and textured, true to classical tanto construction.

At the junction of blade and handle sits a python theme alloy tsuba finished in a dark tone that matches the surrounding fittings. The kashira (pommel cap) features a sculpted design with a coiled motif, while the fuchi and other metal accents maintain a unified black palette with subtle gold ring details around the sageo knot.

The hardwood saya is finished in premium natural lacquer with a distinctive black and gold speckled pattern that catches light across its surface. At 28.5 inches, the scabbard houses the blade securely, and a black sageo cord is tied in a traditional knot for carry and display. This Black Hamidashi style saya brings an elegant contrast to the matte black handle and fittings.
