I like knives and I have different types of knives and hand sharpener, electric sharpener (Tormek). I keep my knives always sharp. First time owner of a Katana. First impression is good. The steel is original Damascus. The hamon looks good. r

Things I did not like much:r
1. It was written that it is razor sharp. No, definitely not razor sharp, even noth sharp. It doesn't cut folded paper towel even though I press much. With fingers, I don't feel the sharpened. After sharpening my knives, I test them and I am what is sharp and what is notr
2. Polish is not good enough. In some points of blade, with my nail, I can easily feel the Damascus layers.r
3. Habaki: design is good, but workmanship looks poor, machine made.r
4. Saya: The thing that really bothered me was the saya. When you shake the blade, it makes wabbling noise. The blade does not perfectly fit to Saya. r

I think for this price, it was good enough.

The two katana true replicas are of very high quality. The blades' color is showing the knowledge of forging. The Tamahagane steel piece is of higher quality than the other one, a fact reflected also in its higher price point (beyond $1000 or colloquially a grand). The handcrafting of the tsuba (guard) for the one that I've chosen with the erotic samurai-geishas' motif is a very impressive work of art (see photos) and I would recommend it for both historians like me and passionate collectors of the medieval Japanese civilization. Very good work on the two scabbards and the other guard also. My only concern in regards to fabrication and construction is the fact that I would have liked to see brass or steel pegs where the hilt is mated to the tang area and not the traditional wooden pegs. It's ok for display purposes but it would be a problem when one starts to apply pressure and force through the blade when cutting or striking. Other than that I would recommend the purchase of models higher than $1k for true aficionados and for people who really want to test the blades' cutting ability. I will also return soon with another order for some Shirasaya katanas (sleek katana models without a guard) that were featured so artistically magnificent in the two Kill Bill masterpieces by mr. Tarantino !

I wish I had a picture to show how beautiful this katana is. I spent more on this one and the quality difference was immediately apparent when I pulled it from the Saya. The hamon is beautifully crafted and the blade is mirror polished with minimal scratches.The curve of the blade is extreme and awesome. It feels incredible and nimble in my hands. It is so far my centerpiece of my collection and although I know it would cut beautifully ,I don't want to damage this artwork. Ok with that being said the Saya was a disappointment, all the components of the Saya are great however the seam of one side was obviously apparent and had very rough edges along the seam almost sharp and the fit of the Saya is very tight which I'm not sure is a bad thing as long as it holds together. I'm very happy with quality and craftsmanship of this katana so I'm ok with the flaws in the saya but a little surprised it wasn't caught before shipping.

Authentic Japanese Katana Sword T10 Folded Clay Tempered Steel Real Hamon TK-JP-KT19135 . I am very pleased with the quality of this sword. Everything fits nice and tight, there is no blade rattle once in saya. The Tsuba (Guard) and Kashira (pommel) show no casting imperfections. The Tsuka ito (Cord Warp) is the best I have felt. All parts are of quality. Although I haven't used it Tameshigiri (test cutting), I expect the blade to perform well. Small negatives - first, be in no hurry to receive the sword...3.5 weeks for me. Second, the list of "Do not ...." with this sword seems excessive and sometimes humorous.

The blade is very shard Can cut paper easily can cut boxes with a clean cut plastic with a clean cut and rope as well as other materials it’s truly razor sharp

Wow, what can I say. I have had swords before, but this time I decided to take a chance with a slightly higher grade sword from a supplier (TrueKatana) I have not used before and without seeing it in person first. I will say that the risk paid off. This is one of the nicest swords I have held. The ad said genuine rayskin, it feels real and looks great, so I am impressed. While at this price point you should expect quality, sometimes it’s just nice to actually get the quality that you’re expecting. This is one beautiful sword you can see the blade tempering is very well done. I have not used it to cut mats yet, but so far this feels extremely durable and up to the task. This is my second sword order from TrueKatana (my Chinese sword just arrived as well) and so far, this relationship is a win! If you are unsure, try a sword at a lesser price point from them and see for yourself. Be sure you know what you are going to do with the sword before buying so you pick the correct metal and type and you can’t go wrong. So far they get a passing grade from me!

I received my order of a high quality katana blade and I have to say that I'm impressed with the way the sword is crafted. When I received the sword I opened it up and it's definitely seems protected with much wrappings and a box that contains it. I saw the blade and I did read from other customer reviews that there's oil/lubricant on the blade for it's maintenance.
I did read on the website that depending on the sword you order it does take some time to receive it. In my case it took 2 weeks. You can track your order when you log in notifying the locations your order is coming from so you don't freak out.
Other than that, I will make another order with this company again.

For me this seemed like alot of money to spend on a sword. But, that thought changed as soon as I saw and handled it. Ot was exactly as described and then some. Beautiful perfectly balanced sword, Tsuba and case.

I have absolutely no complaints with the swords Ive bought, this is the second one I have purchased and looks SO GOOD, it slides into the saya effortlessly and stays put, the blades comes oiled and protected and is great for fun or decoration.

For the price, it is very nice katana. The hamon looks nice and all of the lines are nice and straight. The yokote is not perfectly defined but it is nonetheless decent. Overall very nice and sturdy as well.
