This Katana actually looks better in person. The attention to detail is very impressive. This thing is a functional work of art. Big respect to the swordsmith. I have to give props to TrueKatana for the price also. Pretty happy with this purchase.

I read a few reviews online and debated about ordering, but I am glad I did. For the money, I was very impressed with the overall quality. The blade was ground quite well with a beautiful hamon pattern, the saya (case) fit snugly, and the ito (handle) was wrapped tightly and uniform. Overall, it’s a very nice sword for $300. It will look amazing on display.

It looks great, nice details, doesn't shake inside the sheath, and it has a nice heavy feel. But I do wish it was more sharp for slicing, stabbing through a body was easy but slicing off a limb seemed to be difficult. It felt more like I had to chop it off like a tree. Maybe this is my personal preference but I wish it was thinner. The blade I got was 0.75 cm thick, which is thin and make the blade durable and easy to maintain. I think I cut about 15 and blade had only minor damage. But I think 0.45 ~ 0.35cm thickness will make the blade easier to slice and maneuver around.

Everything about it is perfect, except that it doesn’t fit in the sheath, it’ll slip out if the sheath is upside down. (Which isn’t supposed to happen) and the sheath scratches the hell out of the metal thing between the tsuba and blade. But those are such small details it’s still a 5 star. I’ve used the blade a few times and even hitting something like wood, it didn’t chip the blade which is crazy

it is a nice sword.fit and finish are good.very sharp.the fittings could be better.the hamon is light and hard to make out.have not yet tested the cut.it is light and handles well.

Everything about the sword was incredible. One teeny tiny issue: the handle wrap came off quickly. But don't hold this against the sword or the maker, it has been used to a ridiculous end, so wear is going to happen. Will be ordering more swords from TrueKatana.
