Bought it as a birthday present for the wife. It is just as beautiful as is in the picture. Arrived promptly and on time. Wonderful customer service, I've only and will only buy my blades at true katana.
The Tibetan design of this blade is absolutely beautiful.I love the inscription in the Tibetan dialect on the base of the blade just above the handle. It is sharp and battle ready,so it’s no display piece. It’s is a very nice product that I don’t regret buying at all.10/10
Arrived timely. Blade straight and sharp Nice stacked pattern on blade reminds me of Damascus pattern. The blade seemed brownish in color. Like rust but dosnt wipe off. The Saya looked like it was painted by a 3 year old. It's the blue and white flowers very sloppy. I repainted best I could but this has never been a problem with my other purchases. Maybe I just got a bad one.
The sword arrived within 5 days, it was a bit difficult figuring out where it was because many places they exchanged it were in Chinese but that's a minor problem. The quality upon arrival was very good, the package was taped up so I had to practically cut the thing our of the styrofoam box but again a very minor inconvenience.
My only complaint with any legitimacy was that the blade wasn't as sharp as I assumed it would be. Sure I could cut myself if I wanted to but it has difficulties slicing through paper. Getting hit would certainly hurt but I think if I got it sharpened or purchased a whetstone it might cut through things easier.
Overall though I would say its a quality product, I never had to pay for shipping and with the coupons they offer I saved $30. I am considering purchasing a second sword at a later date, the real question isn't whether or not I should get one but which one to get.
Bought this as a Christmas present for my husband he had been talking about one and so I did my research and found true katana. When this cortana came in I checked it out before I wrapped it and it is way better than I could have ever expected it to be. It's absolutely beautiful and well made. I'll post another review when he opens it Christmas Day. :)
Very pleased and impressed with the quality of my daisho. It's a perfect match and exactly what I ordered. Both saya almost an identical match. Hamon on wakizashi and katana are quite evident and authentic in terms of the differential tempering. Stunning for workmanship. I know that any article of warfare should never garner accolades as far as being "beautiful", none the less, this is heirloom quality cutlery and I hope to pass them on one day before I'm spent.
