Sword is well made with beautiful damascus finish. However it is not sharp as I thought, esp for this price. I had to file the tip to form a sharp edge, then resharpen it using a Whetstone. If this is sharp out-of-the-box, I would give it 5 stars.

This was a present for my 16 yr old son so I am passing on what he has to say about it. He does like it but there is a couple drips of some sort of epoxy or something on the sheath that will require sanding and refinishing of the entire sheath, also there is zero blade retention while sheathed, it wobbles around a little and just falls out very easily. Also It is not balanced at all very forward heavy and could use more weight on the pommel.
With that said he is happy with it as a decorative piece as I do not believe it would hold up to use. I would purchase from Truekatana again for decorative swords.

The sword arrived a little later than I had liked. To be fair however, I ordered it during the holidays, so given that, the shipping was decently quick. The sword itself was in good shape. No rattling, the fittings were tight. The blade had a few blemishes near the point, but that isn't too big of a deal. The blade isn't as sharp as I was hoping, but still decently sharp, so I can't complain. Overall, good experience and good sword for the price range. I'm happy with the purchase.
