Product Details

The nagasa on this katana is forged from T10 carbon steel, folded and clay tempered to achieve a prominent, irregular hamon line visible along the full length of the blade. The differential hardening process creates a harder cutting edge at 60 HRC while keeping the spine resilient, and the chrome-polished surface highlights every wave and valley in the temper pattern. This is a blade built for collectors who appreciate the traditional craft behind Clay Tempered Samurai Sword construction.

The tsuka measures 10.62 inches and features a hardwood core wrapped in black PU samegawa, then finished with tightly wound black cotton ito. The binding is even and secure, providing solid texture along the full grip. A bronze-tone skull kashira caps the pommel, adding a distinct decorative accent to the handle assembly.

Protecting the hand is a round black alloy tsuba with open hollow cutouts in a floral-inspired pattern. A brass-tone habaki sits snugly at the blade collar, and the warm gold tones of the habaki complement the darker surrounding fittings while creating clear visual separation between blade and handle.

The saya is built from hardwood and wrapped in PU leather featuring a golden python-skin pattern, sealed with a piano lacquer finish that gives the surface a smooth, glossy sheen. A black sageo cord is tied at the kurikata in a traditional knot. The contrast between the golden snake-patterned scabbard and the dark handle creates a bold, exotic aesthetic that sets this piece apart from standard T10 Katana designs.

With a nagasa length of 28.34 inches and a saya length of 29.52 inches, this full tang katana is a substantial collectible that commands attention on any display stand. Every fitting - from the skull kashira to the hollow tsuba to the python-wrapped saya - works together to deliver a cohesive design rooted in Japanese sword tradition with a distinctive twist.

I'm absolutely in love with this katana. It's my first and I'm glad I got this. Shipping took a bit longer than expected but customer service never left me hanging with my questions.

Over all a very nice blade. Cuts well. Only small gripes. The habaki is not flush with the spine of the blade and the knot on the rear of the handle wrap came undone. Neither hinders the functionality and it is a very nice piece for the price. Very happy with my purchase.
