The chrome-finish polish on the flat brings the layered pattern into sharp relief against the darker spine.

The tsuka is wrapped in black silk ito over a black ray-skin (samegawa) base, using a traditional diamond-pattern braid that provides secure grip and an even, clean visual rhythm along the handle. Gold-tone menuki accents sit beneath the wrap, adding small points of warmth to the predominantly black handle assembly.
