Product Details

The blade on this tanto is forged from T10 carbon steel and heat-treated to produce a visible, organic hamon line along the edge - a hallmark of traditional Japanese sword craft. A hand-engraved wave pattern runs along the flat of the blade, adding surface detail that catches light from multiple angles. The chrome-finished edge is hand-honed to a refined finish suitable for any serious collection. Browse our full range in the Tanto Blade collection.

The handle is built in a full-tang koshirae configuration, with the tang running the complete length of the tsuka for structural integrity. Black cotton ito is tightly wrapped in a traditional diamond pattern over white synthetic samegawa, providing texture and grip. The mekugi pin secures the assembly, keeping all components locked in alignment.

The tsuba is cast from white alloy in a dragon motif - the openwork design frames the creature in high relief, while gold-tone habaki and seppa fittings create a deliberate contrast between the pale guard and the dark handle wrap. This dragon theme gives the tanto a bold visual anchor at the crossguard.

The natural hardwood saya is the standout visual element of this piece. Raw wood grain swirls in amber, brown, and cream tones flow across the entire length of the scabbard without lacquer or paint, letting the material speak for itself. A braided black-and-orange sageo is tied at the koiguchi, adding color and a traditional finishing touch.
