Product Details

This clay tempered T10 carbon steel katana features a striking black blade with a jagged, lightning-style hamon line traced in gold along the edge. The clay tempering process produces a differential hardness of 60 HRC at the edge, while the full tang construction ensures structural integrity through the entire length. The golden hamon contrasts dramatically against the dark blade surface, creating a bold visual signature from spine to kissaki.

The 6.3-inch tsuka is wrapped in brown ito cord over white polyurethane leather samegawa, providing both a textured grip and a refined aesthetic. The cross-hatch pattern of the brown ito sits neatly against the white underlayer, and the overall handle proportions balance well with the 20.5-inch blade for a total length of 41 inches.

The alloy tsuba is a standout element, featuring an intricate relief-carved dragon design rendered in gold and silver tones. The detailed scales, claws, and flowing mane of the dragon wrap around the guard's face, framed by a scalloped gold border that catches light from every angle.

The hardwood saya is finished in a glossy orange piano lacquer that reveals a translucent, marbled depth beneath its surface. A hand-painted dragon motif in red and black adorns the lower section of the scabbard, echoing the tsuba's dragon theme. Brown and gold braided sageo cord secures neatly around the saya, tying the warm color palette together. Collectors who appreciate this style can explore more options in our Orange Saya Japanese Samurai Swords collection.

Weighing 1.5 lbs, this katana balances visual drama with thoughtful construction across every component. From the golden lightning hamon to the dragon-themed fittings and vivid orange saya, each detail contributes to a cohesive collector's piece. The katana itself is glorious, absolutely glorious. A worthy piece of craftsmanship. However, when I ordered a “full-tang” blade, I thought the sword would he fucntionally sharpened. It’s essentially a blunt-edged blade, no cutting ability whatsoever.

Only knocking off a star because it got "lost" for a bit and took a trip up the west coast. I'm pretty sure that UPS should take the blame for that.r
As far as the katana, 5 stars for sure. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟r

The sword lived up to its expectations. It’s a gift for my brother’s 40th birthday, so I can’t really show you a picture of me wielding it because it’s not mine. However, me and my father gave a sneak peek test run of the sword and it is damn good of a sword. Very sturdy and I like the fact that it has some weight to it. Also, it is a very beautiful piece of artwork. Very satisfied. Thank you True Katana!

Amazing quality only one small problem I found was in the etched in design at the tip of the sword where there were black spots instead of being yellow but it’s really not a big deal and everything thing else looks amazing.
