Product Details

The blade is forged from damascus steel, revealing a layered grain pattern across the chrome-finished surface. A hand-finished hamon line traces the length of the edge, and wave engraving runs along the flat - details that distinguish this wakizashi from mass-produced replicas. Explore the full range in our Damascus Wakizashi collection for more forged options.

The tsuka is wrapped in black cord over a white samegawa base in a classic koshirae style. Diamond-shaped openings in the wrap expose the ray-skin beneath, creating the familiar geometric rhythm of traditional Japanese handle construction. The full-tang build runs the blade's steel straight through the handle core.

A gold-toned tsuba with ornate scroll relief sits between the blade and handle. The cast detail - overlapping vine or cloud scroll work across a textured ground - reads clearly against the dark hardware, and the rounded square silhouette fits the koshirae proportions of the piece.

The black hardwood lacquer saya is finished with a scattered orange speckle pattern across its surface, visible in both the main image and detail shots. A black sageo is knotted at the kurigata in a traditional wrap. The contrast between the matte cord, glossy lacquer, and orange texture makes the scabbard a strong visual element on its own.

At 31 inches overall and 3 lbs, this wakizashi ships in a 33 x 4 x 4-inch package at 4 lbs. It is suited for koshirae display, japanese sword collections, or as a paired companion to a full-length katana. Sword stand is not included.

Decent quality for its price, beautiful to look at. Feels solid, all the pieces are firmly attached and no rattle. The blade is a bit on the heavy side, straight and sharp. The scabbard is beautiful and holds the sword tight.
