The tsuka is wrapped in black cord over a white samegawa base in a classic koshirae style. Diamond-shaped openings in the wrap expose the ray-skin beneath, creating the familiar geometric rhythm of traditional Japanese handle construction. The full-tang build runs the blade's steel straight through the handle core.

A gold-toned tsuba with ornate scroll relief sits between the blade and handle. The cast detail - overlapping vine or cloud scroll work across a textured ground - reads clearly against the dark hardware, and the rounded square silhouette fits the koshirae proportions of the piece.
