Product Details

The blade is forged from manganese steel and hand-finished to bring out a clear hamon line running the length of the edge. The chrome-polished surface catches light cleanly, highlighting the traditional katana curvature from the kissaki tip back to the habaki. Each blade is individually shaped and finished by experienced swordsmiths, so the geometry reflects genuine hand production rather than machine uniformity. For collectors interested in exploring the range of manganese steel builds, the Camo Manganese Steel Japanese Samurai Swords collection offers additional options in this material.

The tsuka is wrapped in black ito cord over a PU black ray-skin (same) base, using the traditional diamond-pattern binding that distributes grip pressure evenly across the handle. The full tang runs the complete length of the handle, secured with mekugi pegs through the tsuka. A gold habaki seats firmly at the blade base, providing clean blade-to-guard contact.

The tsuba is a circular alloy piece finished in black and gold, engraved with a detailed dragon composition across its face. The contrast between the dark background and the gold relief work gives the guard a visual weight that holds up under close inspection. The seppa and fuchi fittings continue the black-gold palette throughout the koshirae assembly.

The saya is finished in black leather over a hardwood core, smooth and matte in hand. Three gold fan-shaped ornamental fittings are positioned along the body of the scabbard at regular intervals, and a coiled dragon figure wraps near the koiguchi. The black sageo cord completes the saya in a color that keeps the overall palette unified. Collectors drawn to the all-black aesthetic can find related pieces in the Black Katana Sword collection.

Overall length is 41 inches with a shipping weight of 4 lb. The package measures 43 x 4 x 4 inches. Because each piece is handcrafted individually, minor variations in finish detail and fitting tolerances are inherent to the process. Sword stand not included.

  • Manganese steel blade with a visible hamon line and chrome-polished finish, hand-finished to a refined edge and shaped with the traditional katana curvature collectors look for.
  • Full tang construction secured through a black ray-skin (same) wrapped tsuka with black ito cord in classic diamond pattern, providing a firm, balanced grip during display or handling.
  • Circular dragon-themed tsuba in black and gold alloy - intricately engraved with dragon motifs and accented with a gold habaki, making the guard a standout detail at the crossguard.
  • Black leather saya decorated with three gold fan-shaped ornamental fittings along the body, plus a coiled dragon figure near the mouth - bold contrast against the matte black scabbard finish.
  • Total length 41 inches, shipping weight 4 lb - individually handcrafted by experienced swordsmiths, so minor variations in finish and fit are a natural mark of hand production.

Nicely built and sturdy katana, looks just like the photo but it lacked any sort of hamon and was a little duller than I expected
