Tamahagane Steel Full Tang Katana with Authentic Clay Tempered Hamon

At the heart of this katana is a tamahagane steel blade forged using traditional Japanese smelting methods. The full tang construction runs the entire length of the handle, ensuring structural integrity and balanced weight distribution at 3 pounds across 41 inches. Through careful clay tempering, a genuine hamon line emerges along the blade - not etched or acid-treated, but the natural result of differential hardening that creates both a refined edge and a harder spine.

Military Green Tsuka with Real White Samegawa

The handle is wrapped in 10mm military green cotton cord using the traditional knot paper wraps technique, a method that ensures each diamond-shaped gap sits evenly along the tsuka. Beneath the cord lies authentic white samegawa (ray skin), providing both tactile grip and a connection to centuries-old Japanese sword fitting traditions. The layered construction gives the handle a firm yet comfortable feel during handling and display.

Hand-Carved Copper Tsuba with Shrimp Motif

The tsuba is hand-carved from solid copper and features an intricate shrimp design - a motif rooted in Japanese culture as a symbol of longevity, flexibility, and resilience. The warm copper tones complement the green handle wrap and brown saya, creating visual cohesion across the entire piece. Each curve and detail in the shrimp carving reflects hours of skilled metalwork.

Multi-Colored Lacquered Saya with Dark Green Sageo

The scabbard is carved from seasoned wood and finished in premium natural lacquer that shifts between brown, golden, and subtle green tones depending on the light. A dark green sageo cord wraps around the saya, adding both a functional hanging point and an understated accent. The lacquer work protects the wood while producing a depth of color that improves with age.

The combination of tamahagane steel, traditional fittings, and a visually dynamic saya makes this piece a compelling centerpiece for any Japanese sword collection.
