Placed the order on July 14th and received the sword today. Apparently when TrueKatana says "in stock" that means in stock in China.....still, the tracking was not bad at all, I could log on and get info anytime, right up until delivery. I admit I was apprehensive about paying this much for a Katana, but I have to say that it has exceeded my expectations and I am very happy with this purchase. r
The fit and finish is absolutely perfect, I cannot find a flaw in this blade, handle or scabbard. It even came with a neat silk lined case that I wasn't expecting. The Hamon is perfect, the blade has a beautiful taper and it is true to all the features of a WWII type 98 Shin Gunto. Anyone worried about the quality matching the price should buy with confidence, you will not be disappointed with this Katana!!!!!!

The Shirasaya Tanto TK-JZ-KT-L190016 shortsword appears to be well made and of good quality. I will put a final edge on the blade and polish up the brass fittings to bring it to it ‘s full potential . I am very satisfied.

I received my order of a high quality katana blade and I have to say that I'm impressed with the way the sword is crafted. When I received the sword I opened it up and it's definitely seems protected with much wrappings and a box that contains it. I saw the blade and I did read from other customer reviews that there's oil/lubricant on the blade for it's maintenance.
I did read on the website that depending on the sword you order it does take some time to receive it. In my case it took 2 weeks. You can track your order when you log in notifying the locations your order is coming from so you don't freak out.
Other than that, I will make another order with this company again.

Top quality blade, with nice finishing touches round Fuchi and Habaki.
That said, pattern on Fuchi looks more Chinese/Korean than from Japanese origin.
All in all very happy with this purchase and will add to my collection from True Katana.

I LOVE the make of the sword, the balance, and the overall finish and design. The blade width (not the length or the thickness of blade!) was a little smaller than expected, but it was a small detail. The only negative comment I can have is the end of the handle, where the cap was put on. The cord started coming of, and I ended up having to secure it with ugly knots and melting the cord so it didn't come undone. If you practice with swords like I do, then you may want to get a sword that can handle more use. Perfect for display, and definitely battle ready, just not for extended practice with said sword.
