Very nice looking sword with good balance and weight. However, the blade was not evenly sharpened as I requested. Moreover, the blade is not razor sharp like I wanted it to be. Therefore, I would not describe it as "Battle Ready" as advertised. r

The upper half of the blade is sharp enough to remove some hairs on my arm, but does not shave the skin. The lower half of the blade is not sharp enough to remove any hairs on my arm. Will have to buy some fine ceramic wet stones to finish the sharpening myself, because I want the blade to razor sharp across the full length of the blade. Swords can't be shipped back to China to correct the poor full blade sharpening.

I wish I had a picture to show how beautiful this katana is. I spent more on this one and the quality difference was immediately apparent when I pulled it from the Saya. The hamon is beautifully crafted and the blade is mirror polished with minimal scratches.The curve of the blade is extreme and awesome. It feels incredible and nimble in my hands. It is so far my centerpiece of my collection and although I know it would cut beautifully ,I don't want to damage this artwork. Ok with that being said the Saya was a disappointment, all the components of the Saya are great however the seam of one side was obviously apparent and had very rough edges along the seam almost sharp and the fit of the Saya is very tight which I'm not sure is a bad thing as long as it holds together. I'm very happy with quality and craftsmanship of this katana so I'm ok with the flaws in the saya but a little surprised it wasn't caught before shipping.

Jury is still out. Fit and finish looks and feels good. Handle is wrapped tight, and nothing is loose yet. The scabbard is junk. Wood shavings are always on the blade. Blade cuts into the scabbard easily. The blade rattles around in the scabbard. The finish on the scabbard is amazing. The matte finish feels great and is easy to hold. The blue is very deep and looks amazing.

I can really recommend True katana, the katana I recieved is in fantastic shape, materials are great, tsuka-ito is tight, koiguchi is really tight and well done so the katana doesn’t fall out, the blade itself is really well done and even without any defects.
Even the customer support is really good.
The only downside is that the katana comes without box, stand and even without the silk bag. But the money/quality ratio makes up for it for sure!

Wow, what can I say. I have had swords before, but this time I decided to take a chance with a slightly higher grade sword from a supplier (TrueKatana) I have not used before and without seeing it in person first. I will say that the risk paid off. This is one of the nicest swords I have held. The ad said genuine rayskin, it feels real and looks great, so I am impressed. While at this price point you should expect quality, sometimes it’s just nice to actually get the quality that you’re expecting. This is one beautiful sword you can see the blade tempering is very well done. I have not used it to cut mats yet, but so far this feels extremely durable and up to the task. This is my second sword order from TrueKatana (my Chinese sword just arrived as well) and so far, this relationship is a win! If you are unsure, try a sword at a lesser price point from them and see for yourself. Be sure you know what you are going to do with the sword before buying so you pick the correct metal and type and you can’t go wrong. So far they get a passing grade from me!

I’m extremely satisfied with my order. I ordered a higher end sword and it came fully sharpened and is extremely sturdy. This is my first katana, however I showed it to one of my friends that is a collector of swords and he too was very impressed with the quality of the katana that I received. Everything is good..except..when I was simply shaking it to see if anything was loose or rattled, the tsuka (handle) squeaks. I suppose it's minimal but a little annoying. Sharp though. I may consider buying more.

The blade pattern is beautiful! The fittings are nice and tight. I have not done any cutting with it so I don't know if it will stay that way. The Saya, or scabbard, is a little loose and the blade rattles around. But it does hold the sword in place, even upside down the sword stays in place. Overall, it's a great looking sword for the price.

Totally amazing. Very good quality. I used an amazing traditional stone with three surfaces including a crystal to sharpen the swords properly and break away any brittle impurities on the edge and tip to strength and sharpen a true edge any samurai or ninja would respect. Now I have a wonderfully legit sword that will make anyone happy who did not go full bore to West Okinawa to spend the big money. 1000 fold NINJATO AND 1000 FOLD KATANA.

Great sword, beautiful.. although some details were not as perfect as expected, overall it's nice. Not as sharp as expected, small detail unfinished in the handle. Normally I wouldn't say anything but considering I spent 650 approximately, it was very disappointing.
I still love the sword, don't get me wrong. But now I am looking into sharpening services..
