Very nice historic style Chinese sword. Excellent fittings and scabbard. Not very sharp, would need work to be a "cutting" sword, but for the price, I think it is a fine value. Size is smallish, but accurate to the period it represents.

The blades are the selling point here. They are a lovely deep-blue with a slight reddish purple gradient in the light, with a striking pattern down the spine. The pattern is adhered very well to the surface. The grips and fittings are a bit on the cheap-side but they are designed for "minimalist, tactical use" so they may just what some people are looking for. The blades are still full tang, as evidenced by the great balance point.r

This is a hidden gem. I feel like it resembles a "Dao" in many ways, but the blade does appear to have a traditional katana-style taper. I have been learning the tai chi sword for about one year and had been using a telescopic sword for practice. I am very happy with my new handmade, stainless steel Chinese tai chi sword with brown scabbard. The sword arrived quickly, in about a week after placing my ordering. My Sifu examined it. The handle was a touch loose; he tightened it for me. Otherwise, he said that it was a good sword and right for me. The calligraphy on the sword is beautiful and authentic. The scabbard is also beautiful, with plum blossoms, a symbol of the new spring, and beloved in Chinese and Japanese culture. I bought a black sword bag, which also came quickly. It has the kanji for "Dao" or "Way" and gives my new sword the protection and respect that it deserves. For now, the sword is a bit heavy but this serves as motivation for me to practice and improve. Two practitioners have already offered to buy it from me. "Not for sale!" I said. Thank you for a sturdy, balanced, gorgeous sword. LSO

So the sword itself is great it feels strong but I didn’t like that it came with practically no edge wich I have sharpened and I wish there was an option for a bigger sword because to me it’s quite small. But my main issue is the scabbard it looks great but there are some type of burn Marks on the metal parts of the scabbard and there is epoxy around the bottom of the black wrapping of the scabbard Also it is very loose and the sword will fall right out of the scabbard wich I don’t like because they are meant to protect the sword from damage, falling out , and the elements wich I will be addressing myself the sword itself is great but true katana your scabbards need a little more effort to secure the swords you sell

Sword is well made with beautiful damascus finish. However it is not sharp as I thought, esp for this price. I had to file the tip to form a sharp edge, then resharpen it using a Whetstone. If this is sharp out-of-the-box, I would give it 5 stars.

Beautiful sword! And it arrived very quickly - in time for Christmas, which I appreciate. My tip for others who buy this item is to look for the plastic inside the scabbard (before putting the sword back inside!) I suspect the plastic is there as a wrap around the blade, but the first time I took the sword out, the plastic stayed inside the scabbard. Not understanding this, I put the sword back in, pushing the plastic wrap down to the bottom of the scabbard. Just something to be aware of for future buyers.

It came with different scabbard, it was gold on picture and that’s one of the reason I chose this sword, didn’t noticed it was copper scabbard on the description, I just look the picture. My bad! Sword wasn’t really sharper as it stated as battle ready. I had to sharpen it myself again.
