Did not send me the right sword, or more likely sent me a sword which quality you can tell is not the same piece in picture. The sword is way sub par especially after I spent over a thousand dollars for this sword the blade clay tempering is a joke. I got ripped off make sure ur not next

Sword is beautifully made. The shipping process was quick and I have 0 issues regarding the sword I received, however, the sword is not as sharp as I was expecting it to be, I'd just recommend getting some whetstone if that's important to you.

Katana is beautiful and sturdy! Only issue is the metal bracket used to hold the strap will slip along the length of the scabbard. I wish that would stay in place. But otherwise a beautiful katana.

I have held a real 95 gunto military sword and this one for the money is an excellent reproduction! Very sharp, so be careful! The metal is high grade carbon steel (1095) which holds its edge! A nice collectors piece without having to spent serious money on the real thing!

Sword was pretty sharp, seems like it was hardened pretty well. Hit it with a sharpener to see if it left little chips in the edge but didnt. A well made 1060 in my oppinion.

Excellent product, got delivered on schedule and with no major issues. A small problem was one of the rings on the sheath came loose, but thats easy enough to fix with glue.
Would absolutely recommend true katana for any other items. It looks great.

I recently decided to start collecting WWII Japanese swords so I purchased a Type 98 Shin Gunto reproduction from TrueKatana to see what these swords looked like back in the day. The quality of the sword was very good, very reasonably priced and only took a couple of weeks to arrive. I will definitely buy from them again!
On a side note, a few months ago I purchased a beat-up Type 98 Shin Gunto at a garage sale for a few hundred bucks. I found Ishido Teruhide's name on the tang as the swordsmith. The blade has been authenticated and now I know what it should look like when it's fully restored!

Everything was as expected very professional . Made nicely and extremely razor sharp. This is something I would recommend to anyone looking for a real nicely made katana . I chose this specific style because I was looking for something that resembled a ww11 Japanese warrior sword and this does. All the way down from the design and coloring. Handle design.
