I am happy with the blade overall, however, parts along the Scabard came broken off of the scabbard when I received it. Additionally, there was a large amount of hot glue at the end that was clearly visible.

Sword is beautifully made. The shipping process was quick and I have 0 issues regarding the sword I received, however, the sword is not as sharp as I was expecting it to be, I'd just recommend getting some whetstone if that's important to you.

Generally okay experience. The order came quickly, within a day and a half to be specific. The blade appears to be of good quality and made of decent materials. The top metal piece attached to the opening of the wooden part of my sheath fell off upon opening the package and unsheathing the sword.

I admittedly bought this sword and its shorter companion with the intention of cannibalizing their koshirae to be put on another blade, so I wasn't particularly concerned with the utility of the sword. However, I'll admit that when it arrived I was pleasantly surprised by it. The construction seems pretty tight, the blade while flat ground and through tempered has a pretty good geometry and feels solid. For the money I gotta say this is a really good buy.

I have held a real 95 gunto military sword and this one for the money is an excellent reproduction! Very sharp, so be careful! The metal is high grade carbon steel (1095) which holds its edge! A nice collectors piece without having to spent serious money on the real thing!

Everything was clean and nice. Until I checked out the sheathe and noticed some metal pieces comming off. The glue keeping the metal seemed to have came undone.

I don't usually leave feed back on my purchase but this is an exceptional piece.this sword immediately stood out from any Japanese blade I've owned before.its balance weight are impressive and the craftsmanship and materials are top shelf .despite the disclaimer in the box I had to give this blade a whirl...and holy smokes this blade is so sharp it cut through a grapefruit and left it sitting there in two perfect pieces ! And continued to do the same with five more! Scary sharp .the price is fair worth every penny! And it shipped

I recently decided to start collecting WWII Japanese swords so I purchased a Type 98 Shin Gunto reproduction from TrueKatana to see what these swords looked like back in the day. The quality of the sword was very good, very reasonably priced and only took a couple of weeks to arrive. I will definitely buy from them again!
On a side note, a few months ago I purchased a beat-up Type 98 Shin Gunto at a garage sale for a few hundred bucks. I found Ishido Teruhide's name on the tang as the swordsmith. The blade has been authenticated and now I know what it should look like when it's fully restored!

Everything was as expected very professional . Made nicely and extremely razor sharp. This is something I would recommend to anyone looking for a real nicely made katana . I chose this specific style because I was looking for something that resembled a ww11 Japanese warrior sword and this does. All the way down from the design and coloring. Handle design.
