Generally okay experience. The order came quickly, within a day and a half to be specific. The blade appears to be of good quality and made of decent materials. The top metal piece attached to the opening of the wooden part of my sheath fell off upon opening the package and unsheathing the sword.

I have held a real 95 gunto military sword and this one for the money is an excellent reproduction! Very sharp, so be careful! The metal is high grade carbon steel (1095) which holds its edge! A nice collectors piece without having to spent serious money on the real thing!

Absolutely beautiful!!! I bought it for my boyfriend for Christmas and I’m so excited to give it to him.
Everything about it is good condition and the blade is very sharp.
Only concern is the packaging, it came in taped up styrofoam but must have been handled properly. It also arrived 4 days ahead of estimate :)
Overall I am mesmerized by the sword and wish I was keeping it for myself haha

I recently decided to start collecting WWII Japanese swords so I purchased a Type 98 Shin Gunto reproduction from TrueKatana to see what these swords looked like back in the day. The quality of the sword was very good, very reasonably priced and only took a couple of weeks to arrive. I will definitely buy from them again!
On a side note, a few months ago I purchased a beat-up Type 98 Shin Gunto at a garage sale for a few hundred bucks. I found Ishido Teruhide's name on the tang as the swordsmith. The blade has been authenticated and now I know what it should look like when it's fully restored!

Nice looking katana but soft steel, and bendable by hand. Definitely a wall-hanger. If this really is made of T10 then there's something wrong with the hardening/tempering process. I wouldn't recommend using it for cutting or sparring, etc.
