Product Details

This full tang katana features a 28.3-inch folded Damascus steel blade with a chrome-polished finish that reveals the layered grain pattern inherent to the forging process. Heat-treated to 60 HRC, the blade holds a refined edge and carries a visible wavy texture along the flat, a hallmark of multi-layer steel folding. The overall length reaches 40.5 inches with a balanced weight of 2.65 lbs.

The 10.2-inch tsuka is built over genuine white rayskin and wrapped tightly in black cotton ito cord, forming the traditional diamond pattern that ensures a firm, comfortable grip. A brass habaki collar seats the blade securely into the handle assembly, and black fittings at the fuchi and kashira complete the tsuka's clean, monochrome look.

At the guard, a gold-tone alloy tsuba features a detailed dragon motif carved in high relief. The dragon winds through cloud-like forms across the round guard face, with a gold-rimmed seppa on either side framing the design. This tsuba is one of the most eye-catching elements on the sword and pairs well with other pieces in our Black Damascus Katana collection.

The 30.3-inch hardwood saya is coated in black piano lacquer, producing a deep gloss finish that mirrors light cleanly. A black sageo cord is tied at the kurikata knob, and a small gold-accented kojiri detail at the saya mouth adds subtle contrast. The overall aesthetic is dark and refined, with gold accents providing the only tonal break.

Whether displayed on a stand or held in hand, this Damascus steel katana delivers a striking visual profile backed by solid materials and traditional construction methods. Collectors looking to explore more forged steel options can browse our full Damascus Steel Sword lineup for additional styles and fittings.

Exquisite! (And sharp as hell, so beware carelessness). This is my favorite Christmas gift. The craftsmanship is really impressive on both sword and scabbard, and it handles like a dream. This will display and be used with pride for a long time. I’ll be back for more soon.
