Product Details

This tachi features a 28.3-inch damascus steel blade that has been clay tempered to produce a natural hamon line along the edge. The folded steel construction creates visible layered patterning across the blade surface, and the edge has been hand sharpened to a refined finish with a hardness rating of 60 HRC. The full tang design runs the entire length of the handle for structural integrity.

The 11-inch tsuka is wrapped in black cotton ito cord over genuine white rayskin samegawa, with the traditional diamond pattern providing both grip and visual contrast. Dual bamboo mekugi pegs secure the tang firmly within the handle. Brass menuki in the form of foo dog figures sit beneath the wrap, adding dimension and a classical Japanese aesthetic.

A gold-tone alloy tsuba with a flower theme guards the hand, featuring a lobed silhouette with raised floral relief on a dark ground. The copper habaki at the blade collar ensures a snug fit into the saya while complementing the warm metallic tones of the fittings.

The natural brown hardwood saya measures 30.33 inches and showcases the raw wood grain without lacquer or paint, giving it an organic, understated character. Gold-tone alloy fittings cap both ends, and a black-white braided sageo cord is tied in a traditional knot around the kurikata. This saya style pairs well with other pieces in the Brown Odachi collection.

At 41.33 inches overall and 3.6 lbs, this tachi carries the extended profile characteristic of the form - longer than a standard katana and designed for mounted display orientation with the edge facing downward. The combination of damascus steel, natural wood, and detailed alloy fittings positions it as a distinctive addition to any sword collection. Those seeking similar Full Tang Nodachi Sword options will find comparable craftsmanship across the lineup.

The order was easy to track, I ordered this for my son for his birthday, unfortunately it came with black rust on it. My Sin told me that a new one is being sent out. Hopefully it will be rust free

Beautiful and very well made sword. I was surprised at the quality despite all the great reviews.
It might take a while to get to you as it's handmade. I'm in the uk and it got to England from China in 36 hrs, unfortunately due to brexit delays it took another week to get to me.
Well worth the wait though.
Thank you.
