Product Details

The blade on this katana is forged from T10 carbon steel, ground to a full-tang profile and finished with a genuine hamon line visible along the edge. The hamon traces an irregular, naturally formed temper line that gives the polished chrome surface its defining character - a hallmark of careful heat-treatment work rather than etching. Collectors drawn to Green T10 Carbon Steel Katana builds will find the steel here delivers both visual presence and structural integrity across the 28.3-inch nagasa.

The tsuka is wrapped in white cotton ito over a white rayskin (same) base, producing a firm, textured grip with evenly spaced diamond nodes along its 10.2-inch length. Small white menuki ornaments are seated beneath the wrap at traditional positions, visible as raised detail points through the binding. The overall handle presents cleanly and contrasts strongly against the green saya when the sword is assembled.

The silver alloy tsuba is the centerpiece of the koshirae hardware. Its oval plate carries deep-relief peony cutwork across the surface, with a gold-toned seppa collar at the blade opening that separates blade and guard with a warm metallic accent. The combination of silver openwork against the gold center ring gives the fitting a layered, refined appearance without being overstated.

The saya is crafted from natural hardwood finished in bright green lacquer. Along its length, hand-painted lotus blossoms are depicted in muted greens and deep outlines against the vivid base coat - the artwork is concentrated toward the lower third of the scabbard and remains legible even at a distance. A black-and-green braided sageo cord wraps the saya mouth, introducing a darker tonal anchor that grounds the otherwise bright green finish. Those interested in similar koshirae presentations can explore the broader Green Saya Japanese Samurai Swords range.

Swords are very nice to look at. Almost perfectly balanced. Only downside is sharpness…. Could not cut a sheet of paper without using force.
I will shop more here. Shippingtime to Norway was very good. Dialog on email was also very good
