First thing is this is a sword for 150 and it is 1095 and ful tang that's a good start. Any collection has to have a kogarasumaru style blade which is beautifully polished and the grooves are perfect and it is quite sharp in the right places . The blade is very light but it feels powerful with to hands fast and deadly. The tsuba really stands apart among all the fittings, it is very solid and dense of quality alloy and almost 1/4 inch thick with good details . The tsuka ito is very tight and expertly done. The Saya arrived in perfect condition and is all well done and the fit is perfect being just tight enough. This sword is well worth the cost and the color scheme is subtle with a flash of silver like the blade just before you cut down your opponent.

When I first received the katana the blade was pretty dirty and the habaki is stained I haven't tried cutting with it yet but hopefully it don't break on me

I Received the Katana within 10 days from ordering. Pretty good considering it came from overseas. (Orient). Was packaged very well. It came completely wrapped for protection as well as a well oiled and protected blade. The Katana is razor sharp and beautifully crafted. As with my previous purchase this Katana fit into the scabbard perfectly and maintained a secure fit when sheathed. No slippage. The tsuka again, as with my other Katana, was very precise with a tight, clean weave over redray skin. The blade was a black 1060 steel with a hamon visible on the sharpened part of the sword. It did not appear to be etched or scribed. It looked like it was genuinely creatd using a clay mix and then fired in a forge. The saya was done in a high gloss black laquer finish. The tsuba is made from iron and well done. the swords balance point centers near 4-5 inches ahead of the tauba for a good feel with decent control and follow through. Almost effortless. Overall another great addition to my other Katana.

The sword is absolutely beautiful in the details and the look of it. But its completely loose in the scabbard and same with the small hand guard piece, it slides back and forth with a slight push of your finger.

Item description on the website states “battle ready,” “manganese steel,” and we paid $189 for this katana.
We received the katana and the shipping labels themselves states that this was a “decorative iron sword,” worth “$89.”
We were disappointed even though we knew for less than $200, we’d be most likely getting a decorative katana, I just though the company would be more honest in their item description.
Next time, I’ll find a legit shop for purchasing a higher-end katana.
Hubs is satisfied with it however, and it is a solid decoration.
