So This is an odd case. This sword didn't look as good in person as it did online. The hammered edge of this sword has some black coloration that looks cool in places and less so in others. Also, the tsuba that came to my house was different than the one pictured. However, the customer service was awesome, they paid for the return and I'm going to buy a different design immediately. Quality of the sword was great, but I think I just got a dud.
It came exactly as shown. Sturdy construction. No loose parts or rattling. Blade was lightly oiled and sharp. Could be made sharper but not a blunt factory edge for sure. Item does ship from China but arrived relatively quickly. Haven't tried cutting anything with it so not sure how durable blade is. Seems to be carbon steel of some kind. Scabbard made of wood as described. Feels great in the hand. Overall no complaints. Great looking sword. Not sure if Damascus pattern is real though. Pattern seems a little faded on the blade and there is no visible pattern at all on the spine. The pattern seems to follow the contours of the fuller as if the fuller was there first and then a pattern applied to follow the shape. If truly folded steel pattern would be consistent. Still 5 stars though considering the price point.

When it arrived the blade came oiled and protected with no scratches but on the sheath there were some marks that I was able to get off with some stuff from my sword cleaning kit that I had. Other than that the sword looks good, is heavy, and is very very sharp.
