The pattern is adhered very well to the surface. The grips and fittings are a bit on the cheap-side but they are designed for "minimalist, tactical use" so they may just what some people are looking for. I have been learning the tai chi sword for about one year and had been using a telescopic sword for practice. I am very happy with my new handmade, stainless steel Chinese tai chi sword with brown scabbard. The sword arrived quickly, in about a week after placing my ordering. My Sifu examined it. The handle was a touch loose; he tightened it for me. Otherwise, he said that it was a good sword and right for me. The calligraphy on the sword is beautiful and authentic. The scabbard is also beautiful, with plum blossoms, a symbol of the new spring, and beloved in Chinese and Japanese culture. I bought a black sword bag, which also came quickly. It has the kanji for "Dao" or "Way" and gives my new sword the protection and respect that it deserves. For now, the sword is a bit heavy but this serves as motivation for me to practice and improve. Two practitioners have already offered to buy it from me. "Not for sale!" I said. Thank you for a sturdy, balanced, gorgeous sword. LSO

This Sword is very beautiful to look at and very sharp to the touch.The only reason that I’m giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is beachside there were a couple of pieces that were not fitted properly onto the scabbard and came a little loose which I had to fix myself.Other than that this blade is a work of art and would highly recommend.

I ordered the glaive and as for the weapon itself, I don't have any complaints. It's tall and has some real heft to it and it was sharp enough for me to make a few practice cuts in the styrofoam box it came in. Now my only complaint would have to do with the packaging. I understand "packing with care" but putting it in styrofoam packaging and completely covering it with packing tape was too much. Styrofoam got everything and was somehow cut up inside getting tiny pieces on the glaive and scabbard, and overall was just a mess to clean up, and the packing tape was a hassle to cut through when you don't have a box cutter or durable scissors.
