I have been learning the tai chi sword for about one year and had been using a telescopic sword for practice. I am very happy with my new handmade, stainless steel Chinese tai chi sword with brown scabbard. The sword arrived quickly, in about a week after placing my ordering. My Sifu examined it. The handle was a touch loose; he tightened it for me. Otherwise, he said that it was a good sword and right for me. The calligraphy on the sword is beautiful and authentic. The scabbard is also beautiful, with plum blossoms, a symbol of the new spring, and beloved in Chinese and Japanese culture. I bought a black sword bag, which also came quickly. It has the kanji for "Dao" or "Way" and gives my new sword the protection and respect that it deserves. For now, the sword is a bit heavy but this serves as motivation for me to practice and improve. This was a present for my 16 yr old son so I am passing on what he has to say about it. He does like it but there is a couple drips of some sort of epoxy or something on the sheath that will require sanding and refinishing of the entire sheath, also there is zero blade retention while sheathed, it wobbles around a little and just falls out very easily. Also It is not balanced at all very forward heavy and could use more weight on the pommel.
With that said he is happy with it as a decorative piece as I do not believe it would hold up to use. I would purchase from Truekatana again for decorative swords.

Beautiful sword! And it arrived very quickly - in time for Christmas, which I appreciate. My tip for others who buy this item is to look for the plastic inside the scabbard (before putting the sword back inside!) I suspect the plastic is there as a wrap around the blade, but the first time I took the sword out, the plastic stayed inside the scabbard. Not understanding this, I put the sword back in, pushing the plastic wrap down to the bottom of the scabbard. Just something to be aware of for future buyers.

Had to remove casting metal and some wood from the mouth of the scabbard in order for the sword to fit both ways.
Otherwise it looks great.
Once it's sharpened a little more, I see what it actually does.
It looks and feels really good.

This is a beautiful sword that I have ordered It is a second time from Truekatana . The first one was Japanese Wakizashi. Both of them are apparently well made. I am making a review for this particular Chinese Broadsword. It is a very good looking hand made sword. But I found that some minor fit and finish issue on this sword.
I have contacted to Truekatana customer service team . They response me within 24 Hours. Kindly taken care of it. Next a few days later solved this issue.
