This Tanto is simple and elegant. Just what I wanted. A couple of finish points could be improved, to be honest. The Saya, scabbard, had a small raised rough spot from debris in the finish. The point where the Habaki, ferrule, meets the blade at the Mune-Machi, notch at the back, is rough due to uneven surface match of the two metals. The Ha, cutting edge, had a bur. This was easy to remedy with less than five minutes of sharpening. Not razor sharp, but it will pop a few hairs. To be fair, the price was reasonable, it was handmade, and it was shipped quickly. Customer service was excellent for me. They responded in a timely manner and were very nice. This Tanto is well balanced, feels good in my hand, and displays well. I am happy with this knife. I collect knives and this one is a beauty.

i have never used truekatana before and i am quite satisfied with 2 tanto purchases i made from there. first off, was packed well and was protected coming to this country. the shirasaya tanto is beautiful and is very sharp-cant wait to test cut with it. As a true gamble i ordered a higher end more ornamental tanto and was in disbelief as i saw that the blade is probably the sharpest of any blade i have. I cant wait to test. i have no doubt both tantos are properly pegged, functional, and will perform! if i have one complaint its that everything should come with its respective swordbag. I will order from truekatana again for sure.

We do love this tanto and shipping was great however there are just little things on the handle to not get a 5 star. (Still totally worth the money and a great piece) but you can see some tool marks on the handle and it should’ve been wrapped where 3 of the pins were not showing.

Really love it, one thing compared to the other swords I've gotten, the sheath doesn't really hold the tonta and will slide off sometimes especially compared to the katana I've gotten which will hold and stay no matter what

I’m no sword expert but my boyfriend is really into Japanese samurai so I brought this for his Christmas present. As far as I can tell the quality is amazing, beautifully patterned Damascus, sharp even edges and a good solid feel. The blade was oiled for protection and all the details are beautiful. It was thoroughly packaged for protection and delivery to Australia was quick. I personally had no issues with delivery or customs. Thank you so much for the beautiful knife!
