Handmade Japanese Ninjato Sword With Black Blade

I'm manly giving 4 stars on this Katana for one reson!! The blade unlike last two has a very slight curve, in about 3" for same distance from tip it curves in only about 1/16th possably 3/64th out on only 3 " so not anything major! A love my other perchased of the cane Katana which os very nice. I did make it look like a real walking cane as per last review! r
But this one, I also don't like the rubber clad Tsaba, so covered that and the shiny Kashira to bright / shiny and flashy of me. So that is covers to.also Tsuba has weak spots because of thinness to outside edge too.r
Not sure if Blade very slight curve is because this blade is a second or not.r
It has done me no good trying to contact seller 6 plus times, as I have never received a response! Even for a simple question. Decent buy for the money though!!r
As stated in other reviews ( you get what you pay for) mist of the time..r

One problem though, the handle has about a two crack and a hairline crack on the scabbard which I'm having repaired, a minor inconvenience considering the overall appearance is a real compliment and I understand things just happen, no negative reflection on your company, the item is a very beautiful piece and I'm very proud to own one. Very nice and well made. The sword stays in its wooden sheath until you pull it out. This was a concern for me as
I had ordered the same style sword from another company and the wood was bass wood. It’s a soft wood, the sword falls out of its wooden sheath on its own!!
So I was quite impressed with the construction of this sword from True Katana. It was exactly what I was looking for.

Can it have been better? Yes. Not a bad sword given at it's price point. The blade wasn't evenly as sharp or polished as I would like it to be and had a few high spots, but after sharpening/honing and polishing I was able to get it to the sharpness I wanted. The scabbard came loose after 2-3 times pulling the blade out and leaves wood chips behind. I would have to clean the blade every pull, but is becoming less of a clean up after a while.

For the price, it's not that bad. With little honing, I managed to give the blade razor sharpness. The faux leather on the tsuka is a one piece sheet, wrapped and sew, kinda plastic thing. I did a traditionnal lace over it so now it's way better. The saya gets loose after only 10 times getting the blade out... All and all you get what you pay for !

Blade edge is quality. Scabbard is quality. Handguard looks great. This handle is metal tube with studded rubber overmolding. Really lets your palm dig into your grip point. Wooden peg meguki. Screw on cap as the pommel was a minor pet peeve… the handle wasn’t exactly centered precisely about 2-3 mils deviation but doesn’t affect my swing just an aesthetic flaw. Also the habaki wasn’t fitted properly so it moved around maybe 1-2 mils towards the spine/edge, and .5 mil horizontally. I fixed it by making shims from wood and wedging them between the habaki and blade. No more movement after that.

I got this for my husband, and he was surprise and very amused. But loved it. The packing was great. I was a bit surprise that it was coming from China, nothing on the website said it was coming from there. Getting the sword out of the scabbard was difficult, until I figure out that it was covered in plastic. Nice way to protected, but also less chance of cutting yourself when taking it out. Overall good. I don't know much about quality, but unless you are real samurai and regularly goes on battle, this sword looks and feels great. The weight felt nice, my husband agreed also. He managed to wielded and move it around a bit and found the feel of it good for him. The price did not hurt either. I was expected to paid more for it.
