I have been learning the tai chi sword for about one year and had been using a telescopic sword for practice. I am very happy with my new handmade, stainless steel Chinese tai chi sword with brown scabbard. The sword arrived quickly, in about a week after placing my ordering. My Sifu examined it. The handle was a touch loose; he tightened it for me. Otherwise, he said that it was a good sword and right for me. The calligraphy on the sword is beautiful and authentic. The scabbard is also beautiful, with plum blossoms, a symbol of the new spring, and beloved in Chinese and Japanese culture. I bought a black sword bag, which also came quickly. It has the kanji for "Dao" or "Way" and gives my new sword the protection and respect that it deserves. For now, the sword is a bit heavy but this serves as motivation for me to practice and improve. IPad Air4 for size comparison. It's beautiful, just like the photos. It has a hefty weight and feels sturdy. I absolutely love it and just need to get a display stand for it.
I didn't want to remove the plastic on the blade, as I don't have any oil yet to care for it, so I'm leaving it wrapped but I saw no chips, bends, dents, or scratches on the blade. It arrived carefully wrapped between two blocks of Styrofoam in perfect condition and tracking was easy to follow. Overall I'm super satisfied and so glad I bought it.

I love this sword;the fact it came early on the Sabbath, I actually prayed over it and had it blessed. I love the color, the lightning, the sheath,the character of the blade overall regarding design, even the leather grip ,feels amazing.

It feels like a full tang in the blade, great weight for me and working on my forearms. Haven't done a cutting test quite yet but I felt the edge slide against my finger and I know for sure it's sharp, yet it didn't cut me to cause bleeding.

Awesome blade, I recommend.

Handmade Japanese Ninjato Sword 1045 Carbon Steel No Guard

I love this Sword. But I'm a little concerned. I'm having a difficult time initially releasing the blade from the scabbard. When I seat the sword fully into the scabbard it gets really stuck in there. I'm guessing it's a type of friction lock to keep the sword from accidentally coming out of the scabbard when used as a walking stick.
Is this the correct assumption?
