This Tanto is simple and elegant. Just what I wanted. A couple of finish points could be improved, to be honest. The Saya, scabbard, had a small raised rough spot from debris in the finish. The point where the Habaki, ferrule, meets the blade at the Mune-Machi, notch at the back, is rough due to uneven surface match of the two metals. The Ha, cutting edge, had a bur. This was easy to remedy with less than five minutes of sharpening. Not razor sharp, but it will pop a few hairs. To be fair, the price was reasonable, it was handmade, and it was shipped quickly. Customer service was excellent for me. They responded in a timely manner and were very nice. This Tanto is well balanced, feels good in my hand, and displays well. I am happy with this knife. I collect knives and this one is a beauty.

Great purchase, I would only add that it was unclear if you were using USPS or someone else like UPS. This would be a problem for me since the USPS doesn't deliver to address per my request. The handle looks really nice, the leather used on the sheath has a nice pattern to it, but one complaint. It did NOT come sharpened like promised in the description, just like my last purchase. I may stop ordering non-decorative items from this site if this keeps up.

This is an elegant design. I removed all of the fittings and the bolt that retains the blade in the handle. I believe that weapon smiths should legally be bound to sell their weapons unsharpened. Allow the client who purchase the weapon to sharpen it…sharpening infers intent. Intent is a crime. Don’t choose their intent for them. The ability to sharped a weapon properly show a level of skill…this denotes compassion. Many dull blades have killed…so there is no argument there. I have removed the edge on this weapon with a carbide dremel. I re tempered the steel and quenched it in pb blaster. I also injected black silicone instant gasket from the 99 cent store into the scabbard, filling the cavity completely and utterly. Inserted the hot blade into the scarab and put it in the freezer bound overnight. With the blade and scarab properly wedded, the design is complete. Great item…i love it!
