High quality, extremely sharp, excellent balance, and beautiful. I walk my 4½ pound Biewer Terrier in my back woods. Trailcams have captured single and double coyote and groups of feral dogs. I have the tanto on my belt and feel very safe and able to protect my tiny dog should I need to.

Tanto was beautiful. Finishing was a little rough, I’ve seen the same fittings on other tanto’s, and the blade was loose in the Saya, I glued a small shim on the bottom of the opening, problem solved, but the quality is on the high side of good. Remember this is a 79.00 blade, Quality control in not at its finest. That being said, I enjoy the purchase and would buy another one if the need arises. Aesthetically it is a beautiful blade and makes for a good display piece. Its size might surprise you, the blade is over 12 inches long. I am overall Satisfied with the purchase.

An exquisite craftmanship, very sturdy, genuine materials and really beautiful.
Only one point of disappointment, and it is a major one for me;
like written in your description of this Tanto :
- "razors edge sharp"
- "battle-ready swords"
- "built for cutting" (?!)
- "extremely sharp hand honed edge".
I am afraid it is not true.
I own a Katana with those qualities and this Tanto is not near
to cut something at all. It is even dull at some points to say the truth.
....but 4 stars anyway because it is awesome for display.

The Tanto came as described and looked even more incredible in person. Truly a work of art that must be experienced, a picture with my android phone won't do it justice. It came well packaged which is always a surprise nowadays and the presentation was great. The blades quality is nice a bit heavy but that’s to be expected for this type of weapon. The sheath is nice with the black speckled pattern I do wish they covered the bottom of the sheath with paint instead of leaving it with a wood finish but it’s minute. Overall 9/10 especially for the price.

The Shirasaya Tanto TK-JZ-KT-L190016 shortsword appears to be well made and of good quality. I will put a final edge on the blade and polish up the brass fittings to bring it to it ‘s full potential . I am very satisfied.
