Excellent quality sword blade. These swords come sharpened. The handle is low quality and made up of Styrofoam and 3 of 4 katanas have 2 nails in the handle that are exposed to the eye and touch when holding the katanas. Given this, I would purchase again even though the handles are low quality. The quality of the blades make up for the low quality handle. You get what you pay for and for 4 swords at under $400, these are in incredible deal. If you are a fan of Zoro's beloved swords, these are a great option while having functional capability. These are NOT to be brought to any type of convention and most local laws do not allow carrying in public. If you are looking to purchase as a collectors item that will not be brought out of the home these are a great addition to your collection. The shipping was as expected and was stopped in NY customs.
When opening the blades out of the scabbards for the first time BE WARNED... there are protective plastic sleeves on each of the sword blades, I presume to not damage the scabbard from the excess amount of oil that they are shipped in. Please make sure to not let the plastic protective coating fall into the scabbard as it is difficult or in some cases impossible to remove once you have sheathed the katana into the scabbard without realizing and the plastic will become stuck at the bottom of the scabbard.
All in all, I would purchase again if it was necessary or as a gift, but if you are looking for the BEST quality handle, you have to be willing to pay more elsewhere and may not find Zoro's swords made in a full katana's quality as these should cost $400 each and the market is limited on the buyers side.

The sword itself seems like it was fine before being sent out from original facility, however the box was damaged, and sword handle was bent by UPS during shipping. I was able to bend it back into shape but obviously not happy with it.
This shipping damage is on top of being charged essentially most of the value of the sword as duty at Canadian border due to UPS “brokerage” fee, thus a 30$ import tax ended up costing 110$ extra.
I am happy my first purchase here was inexpensive - imagine paying a few thousand dollars for UPS to drop a couch on my pretty swords.
I will consider buying again but will have to arrange customs fees in advance, and I would need insurance on the shipment since, UPS cannot be trusted, at least cross border to Canada.
Pretty katana, has a nice weight and look and length and feel. No shaving or cutting allowed but still nice and sharp looking and scabbard all shiny.

I don't have a pic of the sword only a video but I do have a pic of what it did to my thumb when I dropped it and reached for it mid-fall. The sword obviously came super sharp, it looked just like the pictures on the website. It cuts good (not just fingers) so please be careful. Cuts bamboo like butter. It's definitely carbon steel not stainless. The weight is good not too heavy but with enough heft it'll swing good. The hamon is beautiful, the saya feels good and durable. I've bought swords for about $200 that weren't anywhere near the quality of this sword. I got it on discount from the website, TrueKatana also upped the discount after it sat in my cart for a week so I couldn't pass it up at that point. Took about 7 days to get it even from outside the US. The only issue I've found is it needs two mekugi (pegs through the handle and tang) instead of just one. I got it for use not for show so two would've been preferable for rigidity. Also if you plan on sharpening you need the right stones to polish or it will scratch the blade. I felt good with my purchase, definitely got my money's worth. I will get another as soon as possible. Also I'm giving 5 stars because this is the first one I've bought at this price range and with only one thing I considered a con (the single mekugi) I have no reason to not give a full 5 star rating. I hope this helps anyone considering making a purchase.

Arrived in a couple weeks and I'm quite happy with it. I believe this sword is worth what I payed. Nothing more, nothing less. It's quite sharp, has a nice weight to it, and feels well-balanced. My next katana will be one that was forged and folded and tempered in Japan. And maybe one day I'll be in a place to own a real katana (tamahagane steel).
