Great sword for the price. Could have been a bit sharper. But, I bought it mostly for display. It arrived much faster than I thought. I’ll definitely buy from True Katana again.

Katana is beautiful and sturdy! Only issue is the metal bracket used to hold the strap will slip along the length of the scabbard. I wish that would stay in place. But otherwise a beautiful katana.

I admittedly bought this sword and its shorter companion with the intention of cannibalizing their koshirae to be put on another blade, so I wasn't particularly concerned with the utility of the sword. However, I'll admit that when it arrived I was pleasantly surprised by it. The construction seems pretty tight, the blade while flat ground and through tempered has a pretty good geometry and feels solid. For the money I gotta say this is a really good buy.

I don't usually leave feed back on my purchase but this is an exceptional piece.this sword immediately stood out from any Japanese blade I've owned before.its balance weight are impressive and the craftsmanship and materials are top shelf .despite the disclaimer in the box I had to give this blade a whirl...and holy smokes this blade is so sharp it cut through a grapefruit and left it sitting there in two perfect pieces ! And continued to do the same with five more! Scary sharp .the price is fair worth every penny! And it shipped

It’s a well made and beautiful looking sword, it’s one of the best I had ever obtained.
The reason for only four stars however is that some of the fittings became loose and one came unglued shortly after receiving it.
Despite this I would (and probably will) order again from TrueKatana.

I really wish I could give 5 stars, but I received a damaged product. I was given a 25% discount, but I would have much rather had the sword in good condition than have some money off. However, the two katanas I got are still very cool and I love them, hence why I would want to give a 5. However, for the price I wish the condition was better.

Nice workmanship, but fits a little loose. I used to have an ‘actual’ officers sword, and it had a metal latch to keep the sword from falling out is the scabbard. Would be nice to see if you could replicate this. I would definitely buy such a sword: practical and pragmatic.

I recently decided to start collecting WWII Japanese swords so I purchased a Type 98 Shin Gunto reproduction from TrueKatana to see what these swords looked like back in the day. The quality of the sword was very good, very reasonably priced and only took a couple of weeks to arrive. I will definitely buy from them again!
On a side note, a few months ago I purchased a beat-up Type 98 Shin Gunto at a garage sale for a few hundred bucks. I found Ishido Teruhide's name on the tang as the swordsmith. The blade has been authenticated and now I know what it should look like when it's fully restored!

Nice looking katana but soft steel, and bendable by hand. Definitely a wall-hanger. If this really is made of T10 then there's something wrong with the hardening/tempering process. I wouldn't recommend using it for cutting or sparring, etc.

The sword is beautiful. The tip of my handle is lose and I thought it would be “razor sharp” as advertised but it’s not even sharp. I’m really pissed of about that.

Took a while to get here but was less than a month, the quality of the katana is amazing and very sharp and already got some lube on it or something and the packaging was protective enough got here with no holes. Very satisfied, already on my wall
