I am a practitioner of Iaido. This is normally done with a sword that is blunt. I did want something with a live edge. I am happy with the quality of the build. I purchased these two items and I actually had the smaller one customized to match the bigger one. First, I was surprised at how fast it came, less than a week. The wood is rich in color, very smooth, excellent quality. The steel is a little thicker than some of my katanas, but its excellent steel, forged very well with an obvious harmon, very sharp. An excellent wakizashi, especially at this price point.

Everything is good and tight but the bottom of the handle is a little loose and the blade could be a little sharper, but overall I like it a lot and you get what you pay for so get something in mind for yourself if you want something better, but it's a different sword than the katana and shorter movements or easier to move. The handle is good and tight but there is a little gap on one side of the handle that looks rushed to be finished and also the bottom butt of the handle is loose. Over all I think it's great for what it's worth

I was expecting real bamboo. After seeing it's not, I read the description again. "bamboo style wooden". Yup, beware of details. But it is still very cool. I am definitely keeping it. The blade is Damascus Steel. The blade is cooler than the handle/sheath. I'll probably never use it. For self defense I prefer a gun as Indiana Jones used against an expert sworder. But I do respect the Samari.

i like it. unfortunately, came with a slight dent in the blade... i will keep it anyways, for the price this is well-crafted enough... if i wanted it as a display piece the dent is not so noticeable either, but i will use it as a practice sword anyways... i am guessing this one might've been kept in storage for awhile here in the US, too, perhaps they lost track a bit of the condition after a certain period of time... (i ordered another one soon after this with t10, i like this damascus steel, but also curious about t10, still waiting on it.. so i hope the t10 will be freshly crafted and flawless)..
