Frequently Asked Questions
What tiger elements appear on these katanas?
Tiger imagery appears in sculpted three-dimensional tsuba guards, tiger-shaped menuki ornaments beneath the handle wrapping, blade engravings, and themed fuchi-kashira fittings. The specific tiger elements vary by model — product photos show the details of each design.
What does the tiger symbolize in Japanese sword culture?
The tiger represents courage, physical power, and protective ferocity. It is one of the four celestial creatures in East Asian mythology and serves as the earthly counterpart to the dragon. Tiger-adorned swords were associated with warriors known for physical prowess and fearlessness.
Can I pair a tiger katana with a dragon katana?
Yes, and this is one of our most popular display combinations. The tiger-and-dragon pairing represents the balance of opposing forces in East Asian philosophy. Displaying both together creates a meaningful and visually dynamic arrangement.
Are tiger katana fittings cast or hand-carved?
Our tiger tsuba guards and fittings are crafted from alloy using detailed molds, then hand-finished for fine detail. The process captures intricate tiger imagery while maintaining the structural durability required for a sword fitting.

Nice sword overall. Blade is not sharp like stated in the description, won’t even begin to cut paper. There are some small scratches that I will attempt to buff out.
