I buy swords from True Katana because they are pretty okay. I practice tameshigiri with them. They hold up fine.r
What DOESN'T hold up fine is this company itself. They once sent me a dinged and pockmarked shinobi. When I sent pictures and pointed out the damage, they were insolent and rude and dismissive. They didn't even try to reconcile with me.r
I recommend performance Katanas from this company; but you better pray they show up okay because this company's customer service is complete and utter garbage.

Great overall, arrived super fast! However, I don't know if it was meant like that, but the blade would often hit the scabbard when drawing or sheathing and when sheathing, the fit it a little too tight. Aside from those tiny issues, the blades were crafted very well !

Things I did not like much:r
1. It was written that it is razor sharp. No, definitely not razor sharp, even noth sharp. It doesn't cut folded paper towel even though I press much. With fingers, I don't feel the sharpened. After sharpening my knives, I test them and I am what is sharp and what is notr
2. Polish is not good enough. In some points of blade, with my nail, I can easily feel the Damascus layers.r
3. Habaki: design is good, but workmanship looks poor, machine made.r
4. Saya: The thing that really bothered me was the saya. When you shake the blade, it makes wabbling noise. The blade does not perfectly fit to Saya. r

Amazing quality. Everything is snug, tight, and very well-built. The tang is tightly wound with durable ray skin underneath. The end cap of the tang is snuggly fitted. The blade itself, while this will be used for display, is extremely sturdy. r

My main purchasing factor was that True Katana was the only company selling WWII katanas (olive color, rosewood, etc.), and all of the designs and effects are 100% accurate, with the reasonable exception that there is no stamp on the blade (but that's expected, because those forges did not make the blade). With that being said, for what this is, it's well worth the price. r

Also, shipping was very fast considering it came from China to America.
