My main purchasing factor was that True Katana was the only company selling WWII katanas (olive color, rosewood, etc.), and all of the designs and effects are 100% accurate, with the reasonable exception that there is no stamp on the blade (but that's expected, because those forges did not make the blade). With that being said, for what this is, it's well worth the price. r

Also, shipping was very fast considering it came from China to America.

For $101.00 this is probably one of the best swords I’ve ever purchased. Excellent quality. Handle wrap, guard and butt plate were all tight, no rattle. Very sharp and straight blade. I haven’t tried cutting anything yet and may not. This was primarily for looks on the wall. Would definitely order another sword in the future

Amazing quality only one small problem I found was in the etched in design at the tip of the sword where there were black spots instead of being yellow but it’s really not a big deal and everything thing else looks amazing.

Initial product is nice.

However glue used for the hook and ornaments was horrible, had to superglue them after not long.

Habaki is slightly loose, although it isn’t a problem thankfully.

Would recommend for a first buy, as I did, but not for anyone who collects them.

Japanese Katana Sword T10 Folded Clay Tempered Steel With Black Scabbard

I recently decided to start collecting WWII Japanese swords so I purchased a Type 98 Shin Gunto reproduction from TrueKatana to see what these swords looked like back in the day. The quality of the sword was very good, very reasonably priced and only took a couple of weeks to arrive. I will definitely buy from them again!
On a side note, a few months ago I purchased a beat-up Type 98 Shin Gunto at a garage sale for a few hundred bucks. I found Ishido Teruhide's name on the tang as the swordsmith. The blade has been authenticated and now I know what it should look like when it's fully restored!
