Through rapid heating and quenching, the spine and cutting-edge cool at different rates because of the clay coating. Resulting in a cutting edge that is extremely hard and a spine that is durable and flexible. These blades of tempered steel are tough enough to withstand the stress of battle, providing improved shock absorption.
It was exactly how I predicted. Katana came in within a week and blade was sharp. For the price it wasn't bad at all. Definitely could chop a zombies head off easily with it lol

Like its companion sword, I bought this one with the intention of using its koshirae on another project. However, when it arrived I found myself rather impressed with the construction. While I'm not a fan of bohi, the blade feels quite solid and has some interesting activity. The fittings are of good quality and the hardwood gives it a unique look. All said, for the money I think this sword is a very good buy!

It's a little bigger than what zatoichi fans should expect, but that was my fault for not knowing how big the listed length is (I'm 5'6) the quality is pretty darn good. The habaki is a little tight in koiguchi but that's expected of a shikomizue (to be used as a cane) I will definitely be purchasing from trukatana in future. Budget and sturdy quality stuff.
