Overall experience, ok. Shipping box looked like someone took a sword to it (torn, ripped, dented); sturdier material should be used. Ok sword (you get what you pay for) but blade collar (Habaki) and guard (Tsuba) are loose. Wasn't expecting a battle-ready, high end piece, but shouldn't have loose parts.

The two katana true replicas are of very high quality. The blades' color is showing the knowledge of forging. The Tamahagane steel piece is of higher quality than the other one, a fact reflected also in its higher price point (beyond $1000 or colloquially a grand). The handcrafting of the tsuba (guard) for the one that I've chosen with the erotic samurai-geishas' motif is a very impressive work of art (see photos) and I would recommend it for both historians like me and passionate collectors of the medieval Japanese civilization. Very good work on the two scabbards and the other guard also. My only concern in regards to fabrication and construction is the fact that I would have liked to see brass or steel pegs where the hilt is mated to the tang area and not the traditional wooden pegs. It's ok for display purposes but it would be a problem when one starts to apply pressure and force through the blade when cutting or striking. Other than that I would recommend the purchase of models higher than $1k for true aficionados and for people who really want to test the blades' cutting ability. I will also return soon with another order for some Shirasaya katanas (sleek katana models without a guard) that were featured so artistically magnificent in the two Kill Bill masterpieces by mr. Tarantino !

The damascus blade is gorgeous. I just wish I knew what kind of steel and heat treat were used. The katana weighs only 2.048 Lbs as weighed and is the perfect weight and balance for me. But I only weigh 125 Lbs. The fittings look nice and feel tight. The handle just sucks. The ito wrap is the loosest i've seen on a new sword. I can see the handle material in a few places, like the ray skin was too small or skimpy. Overall for the price I give it a "B-".
The zombie sword is wicked fun to use. Mine is not sharp. It's almost as if they skipped the very last sharpen process. Very obtuse edge so flat and dull you can run your thumb down the entire length of the edge. It's kinda heavy, 2.703 Lbs as weighed. Slices through cabbage heads with ease, will not slice through foam. I love this thing but it REALLY needs a better, sharper edge.
Customer service was not the best. Several days after ordering I tried to get an estimated ship date and got the run around. After 10 days I tried again and got the run around. They would only answer me with an auto-responderish reply "1 to 3 weeks to make and 1 to 3 weeks to ship." My swords arrived at my door 3 weeks after I ordered them.
