Build quality is lacking in some areas. r

Packaging is terrible. It comes in a taped up Styrofoam container instead of a wooden or cardboard box. Its from China, but that's expected.r

The katana itself is decent and sharp.r
The outer finish on the saya is nice and looks exactly like the pictures.r

However, it was extremely hard to remove the katana from the saya, due to the habaki area getting stuck. I ended up having to lightly sand down the koiguchi area once I eventually got the katana out of the saya.r

Moreover, the blade rattles in the saya, which I'm not sure how I'm going to fix yet.

I am a practitioner of Iaido. This is normally done with a sword that is blunt. I did want something with a live edge. I am happy with the quality of the build. I purchased these two items and I actually had the smaller one customized to match the bigger one. I appreciate their communication and it was easy to have the discussion about what needed to be done. I was constantly updated and in contact with them. First, I was surprised at how fast it came, less than a week. The wood is rich in color, very smooth, excellent quality. The steel is a little thicker than some of my katanas, but its excellent steel, forged very well with an obvious harmon, very sharp. An excellent wakizashi, especially at this price point.

An exquisite craftmanship, very sturdy, genuine materials and really beautiful.
Only one point of disappointment, and it is a major one for me;
like written in your description of this Tanto :
- "razors edge sharp"
- "battle-ready swords"
- "built for cutting" (?!)
- "extremely sharp hand honed edge".
I am afraid it is not true.
I own a Katana with those qualities and this Tanto is not near
to cut something at all. It is even dull at some points to say the truth.
....but 4 stars anyway because it is awesome for display.

I just messed up and bought the sword before a big sale of 40% off, I could’ve got the sword for a lot cheaper and Instead of getting the sword for 233 I bought it for 360 oof

the first two swords i ordered are brilliant. they came from China and arrived quickly. i am very pleased. i ordered a third sword which was shipped from California and i was less pleased. the scabbard and hilt were not as pictured. i keep getting emails to review my orders so here i am. love the first two but am somewhat unhappy with my third sword. overall this is a great company and i will be back. cheers
