This Tanto is simple and elegant. Just what I wanted. A couple of finish points could be improved, to be honest. The Saya, scabbard, had a small raised rough spot from debris in the finish. The point where the Habaki, ferrule, meets the blade at the Mune-Machi, notch at the back, is rough due to uneven surface match of the two metals. The Ha, cutting edge, had a bur. This was easy to remedy with less than five minutes of sharpening. Not razor sharp, but it will pop a few hairs. To be fair, the price was reasonable, it was handmade, and it was shipped quickly. Customer service was excellent for me. They responded in a timely manner and were very nice. This Tanto is well balanced, feels good in my hand, and displays well. I am happy with this knife. I collect knives and this one is a beauty.

The blade collard was not flat with the blade and the blade was not truly centered. I was very disappointed by the quality.

The Tanto sword is high quality and well-finished. The package arrived quickly.
Unfortunately, the wood sheath arrived with a seven-inch crack along the bottom.
The crack is where the Tanto, when in the sheath, has the sharp length of the blade.
I intend to keep the Tanto because of the high quality. It is first-rate.
If another wood sheath with a black gloss finish is available, please let me know.

I'm an early Iaido student 2nd year and I wanted a small tanto to complement the shinken.
I didn't want something too big like a Wakizashi but for a tanto it's on the longer side.
Depending on your hand size this is a single handed tsuka.
For really small hands you might be able to get both hands around the tsuka.
I like the red and black tint on the tsuka that's what attracted me.
It looks great and I feel like the craftsmenship on this blade is worth more than it's value.
Note: blade seemed to come in dry no choji oil appeared to be on the blade. So check to make sure.

not a weapons expert but i don't think the saya should be loose and it came with damage to it so bad you could see the wood underneath the design. idk, if it wasn't as decently sharp(ish) as it is i would think it's a toy

Here's my honest opinion about this tanto.
If i'm not mistaking myself the describtion said "razor sharp". I don't know if that was typo because this was not close to that sharpness at all.
I'm 51 years old and I know a thing or two about sharpening blades., so this i can fix myself easily.
The fitting between the habaki and saya is under all criticism. It was so poorly made that if you tilted it the knife fell out. NOT very safe. Again this i fixed.
This was definately not made by an experienced craftman.
If i were you i had contacted whoever you choosen in China to sharpen up, or searched for another blackdmith
After all, this has to do with your reputation. I don't blame True katana. I blame the amateur that made my tanto.
