Things I did not like much:r
1. It was written that it is razor sharp. No, definitely not razor sharp, even noth sharp. It doesn't cut folded paper towel even though I press much. With fingers, I don't feel the sharpened. After sharpening my knives, I test them and I am what is sharp and what is notr
2. Polish is not good enough. In some points of blade, with my nail, I can easily feel the Damascus layers.r
3. Habaki: design is good, but workmanship looks poor, machine made.r
4. Saya: The thing that really bothered me was the saya. When you shake the blade, it makes wabbling noise. The blade does not perfectly fit to Saya. r

I also note that the balance point is about 5 inches forward of the Tsuba - a bit farther forward than most. It works for me as the sword handles quite well.

This katana is now my favorite and I've bought over 7 from TK ,the reason is it's special blade geometry which makes it very light and fast with one hand. The hamon and polish are impeccable and the blade a beaty.The other reason is the fit and finish is flawless and especially love the fit of the Saya and its elegant silk string. Wanted to take this opportunity to recommend the t10 folded naginata's I've included, these have the same blade geometry as katana reviewed (which also makes them light)they are 1 3/8" tall the whole way through the blade(which is the same length)opposed to a 11/4" tapering to 1". These naginata's are bigger and badder ,you won't be sorry you picked one up.

New member of the family! I love this katana and my backyard is now full of decapitated water bottles. I've drank so many water bottles and filled them with tap water to not be wasteful--it's so addicting, getting that perfect clean slice on the water bottles, slicing multiple water bottles at once, slicing the larger jugs of waters, slicing fruits--this t10 steel is so resilient and cuts through the targets like butter. Of course, this is my first katana, my swordsmanship is that of an ultra-novice, but now I'm invigorated to learn--and learn more of the samurai history--after purchasing this instrument. What is great about TrueKatana is their unique designs, all the different scabbards and the subtle details on the hilts, the tsuba, the sheath, etc.--so much selection! I was warned that purchasing a katana would activate an addiction and, well, no regrets! 10/10, this model, the blue blade, it's mesmerizing. Reverse Blade Katana Sword, Rurouni Kenshin Katana Sword 1000 Layer Folded Steel Full Tang

Purchased for my son for Christmas. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of this Katana and the workmanship put into it. This is his first 'collector' piece and we will definitely return for his other pieces. In October I plan to ask for one of the one thousand folded, clay tempered either Tachi or Katana for my birthday.

This Katana is a very beautiful piece and the well wrapped saya matches the tsuka ((handle) with the same Samegawa (PU Ray-skin) and PU leather wrappings creating a beautiful finished piece. The tsuba is iron and crafted well with a simplistic design. The handle and the saya do feel well made, though it's difficult to tell entirely. The saya fits the blade very well, 'locking' the blade in place so it cannot accidentally slide out as long as it is pressed in properly. The black blade is aesthetically pleasing and my son loved the added 'mystery' it gave the overall all black, obsidian obscurity, as he now calls it.
