I wish I had a picture to show how beautiful this katana is. I spent more on this one and the quality difference was immediately apparent when I pulled it from the Saya. The hamon is beautifully crafted and the blade is mirror polished with minimal scratches.The curve of the blade is extreme and awesome. It feels incredible and nimble in my hands. It is so far my centerpiece of my collection and although I know it would cut beautifully ,I don't want to damage this artwork. Ok with that being said the Saya was a disappointment, all the components of the Saya are great however the seam of one side was obviously apparent and had very rough edges along the seam almost sharp and the fit of the Saya is very tight which I'm not sure is a bad thing as long as it holds together. I'm very happy with quality and craftsmanship of this katana so I'm ok with the flaws in the saya but a little surprised it wasn't caught before shipping.

Purchased for my son for Christmas. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of this Katana and the workmanship put into it. This is his first 'collector' piece and we will definitely return for his other pieces. In October I plan to ask for one of the one thousand folded, clay tempered either Tachi or Katana for my birthday.

This Katana is a very beautiful piece and the well wrapped saya matches the tsuka ((handle) with the same Samegawa (PU Ray-skin) and PU leather wrappings creating a beautiful finished piece. The tsuba is iron and crafted well with a simplistic design. The handle and the saya do feel well made, though it's difficult to tell entirely. The saya fits the blade very well, 'locking' the blade in place so it cannot accidentally slide out as long as it is pressed in properly. The black blade is aesthetically pleasing and my son loved the added 'mystery' it gave the overall all black, obsidian obscurity, as he now calls it.

Very happy with our purchase.

This is honestly the best experience I could have asked for. It came fast and was shipped in perfect condition. On top of that, it somehow looks even better in person than it does in the pictures. The only downside (and this is very minor) is that it doesn’t come with a stand. Overall this is a great sword for a great price. Thanks!

I LOVE THE KATANA; good quality, well-made. Not very much weight to it, but it's sharp, the obsidian black blade came nicely oiled and wrapped (easily slid off), and it's going to be added to my collection. However, one complaint (a minor one) was the plastic wrapping of the katana handle; This wrapping stuck to the handle, was NOT removed easily because once I tried pulling it off, it ripped and kept on ripping into little tiny strips of plastic wrap still stuck to the handle! I had to patiently use tweezers to get the little plastic wrap pieces off of the handle, and it scuffed the nice leather on the handle.

But overall, I am pleased with this katana.
